Ive been playing MMOs for about 7 years now, and it has been a very very long time since i was able to find a group in just about any MMORPG ive played. I just want an MMO with fun gameplay and lots and lots of "M" (multiplayer) lol. Dont suggest AoC that game sucks for grouping (ive gotten a PoM to about 56 solo and being a healer-- if i cant find a group, well-- wow.)

I dunno, why pay monthly fees if im playing a solo game?

Ask Funcom, AoC is designed almost entirely for the solo player.  Linear progression and heavy instancing make this a very unsociable game in my opinion.   Why anyone considers AoC a hit is beyond me, big waste of $50 for me.

you could try Final Fantasy 11 if you haven't already. partying is one of the most essential components of the game. although sometimes it can take awhile to get a group up. ^.^

Jesus saves. Everyone else takes full damage

well if you really want to know what happened to the M, I'll tell you. The players have ruined it. If you play a game like FF11 (which i love)  or EQ when they started some of the most frequent complaints would be about spawn campers, groups stealing kills, and people running away leading their mobs into other groups. Instancing was a way to solve all of these problems...but people don't like that either. how do the devs win???

Monarch of Khrymson ~ Destruction & Order Guild!

Should have just left it as is, and when someone wipes your group with a train or steals your spawn you get revenge!  People talk so much about realistic especially the AoC crowd and well that pretty far from realistic.

The stealing of spawns, and killing others players with a train...etc etc are all the realistic stuff!  It took much longer to lvl up in older MMOs too cause if you went someplace to finish a quest u had to contend with campers and spawn stealers and trains running your group away to survive and all that so it took much longer to complete and in turn you spent a ton more time getting raw XP from kills waiting on the certain spawns!

They also really gotta return the faction system that EQ built!  Like if u play a Dark Elf there everyone else hates you and ur KoS to all guards everywhere from good factions and even some evil factions that don't like u either.  In turn you had to take the time to go fight endless waves of mobs to raise your factions so certain races would talk with you ~ anyway.......

great post and I agree. I love FF11 and the way the open world works, but people cry and complain so they try to make games based on what people want. I believe in letting devs do what they will, if i don't like what they come up with, i'll play a different game. Its been soo many years since FF11 launched and I've played sooo many other MMOs, but I always find myself longing for Vana'diel

Because you interact with a massive amount of people, whether or not you group with them.  Quit trying to force grouping on others.  You can play wow if you want to be forced to raid with 24+ other people...

BTW, you do realize that raids up to 24 people are a staple of AOC's endgame, right?

I may be mistaken, but I believe the OP was referring to general grouping. Forcing players to group may not be good, but in the least encourage it somehow. SWG was the last MMO where I saw groups traveling around routinely; and, by coincidence it also had the best community IMO.

Yep, there is no reason whatsoever to group in AoC as far as I can see.  I did one quest where you had to kill a boss mob that required a group, I waited around until a couple other people showed up, we grouped up, killed the mob and then we all disbanded.  No time to chat or anything.  Pretty lame.  The linear progression is quite obvious too.  Start in an area, level up, exhaust the quests and move on the the next area.  It's becoming too predictable.
