I have a Quad-core 2.4 6600 and I went to Environment Viriables to check if it was x64 and it's only x86 is this right? I wanted to upgrade to vista 64.

It is 64bit. Its just showing a x86 architecture because you are running a 32bit version of windows.

Don''t mistake silence for stupidity....

You have alot to learn then.  The x86 architecture has nothing to do with whether is it  32 bit or 64 bit as it is present in both.  Study up a bit on computer tech before saying something you don't know about.  Just a simple google search would solve your issues.  And btw, all the quad-cores are 32 or 64bit compatible.

Yes sure they are both a version of the x86 architecture, but the q6600 uses the 64bit version x86-64 witch i able of running a 64bit OS, and i believe that was his question, so don't have a cow
