Just wow. 600kb-1MB a second and it's still telling me the total time for the download is...
6 hours 7 minutes. Give or take 30 minutes.
Not that I'm that addicted, but jeezus... I didn't expect a day of downtime to equate to me redownloading the GD beta client
Ah well. Guess I'll play tomorrow. What a dissapointment |

This is a troubling aspect of the game, IMO. A 15 gig patch at launch is unheard of. In fact, I don't know of any other MMOs which have been out for years which have 15 gigs total worth of patches. Correct me if I'm wrong. The massive patch is putting me off installing the game for now, and is deterring a lot of my friends too. It was one thing to deal with the huge beta client, but I was expecting a lot of compression and optimization in the retail version. Seems like the opposite has happened. |

I just logged in for the first time today and it took me about two minutes or so to download the patch. Not sure why you are having to download 15 gigs worth of stuff. |

Unless you didnt install from the disks and only used the key from buying the game. Patch was 95MB at most with a fresh install from the boxes DVD's |

15 gig client put me off, I'd have to uninstall at least three to four other games just to fit it on and you guys are telling me that there is another 15 gig patch as well, that's a 30 gig dirty big foot print on my harddrive, even windows doesn't take up that much space, what are these people thinking, what the war between MMORPG's is now all about filling up our harddrives and making sure there is no more room for any other games, their literarily trying to squeezing out the other competition.

I dont know what you are talking about. The stuff I dled for this game was no 15 gigs,
The total after everything is 25.2 gigs on my system |

But yes the entire game is 25.5 gigs. Welcome to the world of 300GB+ harddrives. |

Seriously, the 5/17 patch from retail should only be around 600 MB (that was the largest of the patches I had to do). I think you broke your install, dude, go and reinstall fresh and try again. -- Brede |
