Those who think you need a 2000 dollar system to have a good rig.....lol I spent maybe 600? Bought a 400 dollar stoch system added a gig of ram a bigger power supply and a new video card for 150 lol so maybe what 750....for a leet computer that can run pretty much anything not bad at all :) I have no doubt that I will run this game buttery smooth on my budget system |

The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp. |

Quite a coincidence! I laugh at cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels, doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles, wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings, probably my favorite things to laugh at! I bought bright copper kettles for $50 and warm woolen mittens for $10! Who is laughing NOW? |

What's your point? If you can run it on an budget PC and enjoy it that way thats more than ok! However if someone wants to spend $2000-$3000 on a high end PC so they can experience it on maximum settings and hopefully DX10 someday with no lag...nothing wrong there either. We all have our tastes on the quality we like to play our games in! |

If this is somehow a response to my Poll post,I said $2000 or less computer maybe you assumed I was saying you need a $2000 or more to be considered in the poll? |

You can get a system that will run AoC fine for about £500 now. (\ /) ? |

I run AoC with all settings maxed on 1900x1200 res, with no real problems. The system playing it cost about $800US to build.
Mind you that's me building it from the ground up, and doing some hefty comparison shopping for good values. Buying stock systems off the shelf always costs you more money for less quality; but it's understandable for those that don't know how to put a computer together. |

Originally posted by terrantI can understand not knowing how to build a comp. But if you can upgrade your vid card or ram, you can build a computer. A big problem I see is people that buy overpriced Dell's, HP's etc..If you can't build your own, go to a custom build site, that has competitive prices, not your local Best Buy. |

I mean personally I don't think it's hard either...but I work in T/S, and I've listened for years to people who are practically terrified to connect a USB device, much less build a comp from the ground up. |

I would build my system but I do not have a credit card so I am stuck to buying my stuff from local stores ( I am only 17 and my mum thinks every internet company is a scam. ) So yeah I was just saying a lot of people act like you have to be rich to play and I am a testament that you don't you just need to be resourceful and look for a good deal I can dx 10 and everything just fine :) |

Originally posted by masterjediYou shouldn't really need that to game. most games (and I think AoC is one of them) don't really use even 2 cores very often, much less 4. Later gens of games might change that, but I'm sticking to dual-cores for now and waiting for quads to come down.
However, I did see a couple on ebay (from high-rating power-seller stores...saw one with an 8k+ positive rating, and yes it was retail) for under 1k.
