"...you mean three philippino women."

If it's a skill based sandbox...sure I'll play.

How about...no.  I think I've seen enough Fantasy MMO's that I may actually, PHYSICALLY, vomit if another one is made.  Unless I can be a beaver.  Then I may accept your notion as interesting and noteworthy.

How can you soar with eagles, when you work with turkeys.

Imo, IP based MMO's are not too financially sound.  They are usually bound by too many restrictions concerning legal use of lore etc.

SWG's extensive lore was very under-utilised, maybe because of Lucasarts, I don't know.  Lucasarts obviously just wanted to turn SWG into an interactive advert for the latest 3 films and to hell with previously written lore.  The lack of a compelling quest system at the start proved that.

Lotro doesn't have that much lore to call on, apart from the books that the devs COULD refer to (I believe that they aren't allowed to use the Silmarillion lore).  My bet is that their contract won't allow them to put anything new in that hasn't already been hinted / talked about in the books.  So no new ideas allowed.

Time will tell is AoC has enough flexibility in its contract to allow them to use the previously written lore.  Apparently, theres more than just a couple of stories written about Hyboria.

Considering that Lotro is already out there, and both a Narnia MMO and Lotro are based from films which are based on books, no one will be interested in an "LOTRO Clone".

If there really is such a thing.

AoC breaks away from being classed as one, simply because of its setting and that theres no "high fantasy" main characters.  No Elves, no dwarfs, no goblins and no talking beavers.

MMORPG Character Monuments

...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest...

IM against any more Fantasy genre MMos. We are stuffed with them.

"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand" - Randy Pausch

I could personally care less what genre a game is, as long as it offers something different.

No thanks.

I found the books, when I was younger,  and current movies horribly dull and incredibly silly.

But putting my opinion on the subject matter aside, for a moment, I don't think it would work very well.  I just don't see how you could make stories for 8-12 year olds into a game that appeals to adults. The only heroes were the kids. I wouldn't want to play as a child character. So that leaves playing as a Narnia native.

I guess it would depend on how far you are willing to stray from the established stories. How much freedom or restrictions within the world setting you would have.
