Internet is full idiots players. Took me 6 year to figure it out. Sure some games are good but community in multiplayer games are horrible. usually 11-19 year old kids that spam in chats and think they best players in world.

I have started enjoy more singleplayer games, no need heard anyone whining and playing feels more realistic. after all whole mmorpg playing is pointless becouse u are just one of randoms that walk in pixel world and are not any special.

Well the OP is actually talking crap about wow as well. He only played wow for 7 months!

I been playing wow on and off since launch here in the UK and only once did i have to put a guild on ignore.

That was because i found out on an instance run that they were exploiting MC

So i told everyone in OOC, then got banned for 3 days as the GM's investigated it, then at that time i XC'd my account for 6months in protest and got offers left right and center from wow to go back. Now these days Gms never do that. Dont need to Blizzard is actually in co-houts with the farming community.

after all 10million farmers gives them a lot of money.

Its a big reason why i hate WOW by opening MMO's up to the masses it introduced these kids into our mist I cant think of a community before WOW that was so imature, you had the occasional bad apple but for the most part communities where mature and friendly.

Well I dont know what the OP is talking about. He claims he gets Flamed in AoC for saming soming in OOC chat, but what he says goes away in 1 second so how would anybody have the patience to go back and flame him. I've asked numerous questions in OOC and have yet to be flamed. If anything I doubt people even see your question to begin with. Thats the only thing i can agree with in OP on is the Chat system is HORRIBLE, but i have seen WAY WORSE. I got into WoW because it felt like EQ in a new format. And as for AoC im having a blast! Community that i have been able to talk with so far to me has been Mature or at least playing the role. So unfortunatly I believe this is just another Flame and will only make AoC better to not have the OP on our servers. Haters gonna Hate Players gonna Play.

X community is far worse than Y community or it was so much better in the old days with game B.

Fact is, I remember from my days in EQ1, my first MMORPG, there were a lot of idiots.

I am not saying EQ1 is > SWG or WoW or whatever your flavour, just that every game has its fair share of idiots.

You will find people you like or hate, its a MMORPG...

Every mmorpg i have played have some kind proplems, gold sellers,gangers,idiots,kids,bugs,loading times,too easy,too hard.

Buying normal RPG game u get better result. Multiplaying its just overhypet with proplems.

LOTRO was so nice during beta, then at release there flood of people saying how much better WoW was than LOTRO. It did die down, and I'm sure that it will die down in AOC.

I usally respond to people that if they like MMOx over the one they are playing, to go back to that MMO and leave those of us that want to enjoy the game in peace.

You could always come over to Bardisattva server.

You'll be lucky to see ANYONE say a word in a 4 hour play period.

I'm being totally serious too... not a chatty server

the culture realm Bane seems to have an unspoken rule about common decency and even a ton of in character innitiative. I was going to join the official rp realm but now I think I've found more atmosphere and community on Bane. The structure of a culture realm inspires RP.

Have to say, they're right. The difference between the MMO community - in several ways - pre-WoW and Post-WoW is night-and-day. When people use comments like "Pre-WoW MMOs" and "Post-WoW MMO's", i'ts not just for effect, there's a distinction there that those who played MMOs pre-WoW understand immediately.

WoW opened the genre up to a whole new group of players, many (not all) of whom demonstrably never played  a MMO before or even knew what one was before WoW came along. The Warcraft world/IP drew them in. What it brought with it was a group of players who are, by and large (again, not everyone) less patient, want "more", want it "now" and want it for as little effort as possible. They're often vehemently anti-grouping and want as much as possible - if not everything - to be soloable. They want to reach end-game/level cap as fast as possible, all content along the way be damned. They only care about raiding and uber loot and, generally speaking, have much bigger mouths and love using them much more than many did pre-WoW. They're often quicker to insult you for asking a question than they are to help.

Tha'ts not bashing.. that's just how it is. In my own experience of the years prior to WoW compared to the years since... that is most certainly the difference I've seen. And just to reitterate - no, it's not everyone. But it is a substantial amount.

That said, about the topic... I'm not surprised at all. As someone else said "blood and boobs" is going to be a draw to this game. Never doubted that for a second.

However... give it the first month... let those with the 30 days to burn on it get through them and then see what's left at the end of it - who sticks around and who leaves.
