Age of Conan

I seem to see TOS here, there and everywhere and also a small smattering of reviews of other classes but has anyone actually got anything good to say about the HOX?

I'm struggling to find any real info on a class which looked to be one of people's favourites prior to launch but now appears to be a bit thin on the ground.

Surely someone out there is enjoying this class.....

one thing about this game i dont like ....and your topic made me think about it.

1.  Why are all the mages in the "evil race" of Stygians

2. Why did they make the evil race "black" and "arab"

lol, interesting stuff.

They should have spread out the mage class to all three races. Not just to one.

I'm playing as one now...I'm enjoying it so far. I think its one of those classes that will be hard at first but will pay off in the end. The difficulty is mastering cloth armor while using a 2 handed longsword! Its an odd combo..but I'm liking it so far...+ the one transformation I have looks pretty sweet

I don't know, maybe because that's how it was in the Conan lore? Way before middle eastern people were the "hated" ones?

This game was made by Norwegians, not Americans. We are not judging people on a mass scale like you rednecks up there

HoX is my first class and having a blast with it.  IMO it is the most difficult class to play but if played well it can be quite a threat.  It definitely has a very high learning curve but once you get used to playing it's very rewarding.  HoX is a melee class and not your typical caster.  If anyone played jedi in SWG it is like going master sabers, enhancer, and some wielder without any defense skills.  Most people seem to forget to use demon form but I use it very frequently.  It's only a 2 min cd, not that bad.  Demon form only augments offensive abilities so it's not going to save your arse when in over your head anyway.

In Conan lore the Stygians were always the bad guys.

The Herald of Xotli is the worst of the mage classes imo.  They have a rough time in pve and get slaughtered in PVP.

Yeah, I played one to level 11 last night and most of the time couldn't take on more than 1 opponent without getting skewered.  Somebody online at the time told me that it was a tough start for him, too, but when he got to around level 15 or so, he really started to kick butt.  He said he can regularly take on groups of 5 mobs at the same time with his Herald.  I think I'm gonna try a different class, anyways.

I personally like the HoX class....and anyone who says they get raped in PVP has never faced a HoX who really knows how to play the class.

Nothing like having a demon suddenly appear out of nowhere next to you and unleash a combo almost instantly.

(start the combo ahead of time, don't press the last key in sequence...hellstep to target, press last key to execute combo)

There are all kinds of nifty tricks up a crafty HoX's sleeve.

In Hyboria everyone is evil and all magic is evil.  There is no Gandalf in Hyboria.  Cimmerians fear and hate magic.  Aquilonians disapprove and frown upon using magic.  Stygians are the only playable race that openly use magic. 

HOX all i can say is WOW. I'm was lvling my assasin last night it was in a very tough situtation in regards of  how many npc's was in a room i wanted to clear to kill a boss. In comes a HOX with his demon and BAMWTF all dead unfortunatly me also to late for me to get out of the way of his aoe i was 2 shotted he didnt know was just my fault for being to close to a master of mass destruction
