I really enjoy it and so does the other 20 people I play with regularly, so to say if failed and fell flat on it's face seems a bit retarded.

No, it seems appropriate actually. It's not the first time in the history of these boards when a good game was dragged to mud by haters. Or a bad game was praised by the honeymoon crowd. Don't forget also that some people WANT all the games bar the one they anticipate to fail. Which in my belief is the case for the OP.

From everything i can tell the game is way better than i expected.  Of course i didn't think it was going to be very good.  I'm enjoying it so far and can't wait to get home from work to get a few hours in.

Yeah Xasapis is pretty much accurate from what I have seen on these boards. It's almost as if some folks work for the games they want to succeed. I'll never understand the concept of wanting another game to fail so you have fewer choices. We have that already and it's why some of us still play a MMO that we really don't wish to because the market is so dry.

As for AoC it hasn't fallen flat. Actually, it seems to have done the opposite. Many are pleased with it and feel it's the best launch in recent years except for Lord of the Rings which has been the best as of late. So the OP is rather off on that statement at the moment. Still remains to be seen how things go once everything slows down a bit. But with how the market is right at this moment AoC has a chance to do well if they patch whatever bugs exist and update their game accordingly.

As picky as I am with mmo's AoC is truly a quality game.

They are going to sell 700K+ copies in the first days.  The launch has been one of the smoothest I have experienced in 10 years.  Sure, the downtime is never pleasant, but when the servers are up, the game just works.  Folks whining about FFA pvp is nothing new, and balance will always be an issue for someone.  I have been pleasantly surprised, and am enjoying the game even if it is not my preferred sandbox.

I can only hope I will be as pleasantly surprised by Darkfall, if it releases.
