Originally posted by maxiloThe stuck characters issue has already been posted here so it's anything but a big secret. FC have posted about it and provided a workaround or rather guidance on how to avoid the issue until it gets fixed. No big deal - it was posted on the official forums for people actually playing the game.

Originally posted by Zorndorf It is actually. Fucom's communication with its community is about as truthful and straighforward as that of the old Kremlin. Why can't a decent game be developed by a decent company. EA, SOE, now Funcom. At least Turbine & Blizzard still have some respect left in my book. --------------------------------------------------------- |

Sorry conspiracy theorists, but I started playing yesterday, and after 12 levels I haven't discovered anything startling that would blow up in a forum. (ok, that stuck issue, but I'm not there yet) In a few days they'll start letting everyone view the forums and all will be well.

there are no game breaking bugs
there ARE support problems with people unable to create/update Active accounts - being able to read the forums would help them |

I agree with the OP that this is strange and annoying, and I say this as a now-paying customer for AoC. I can't access the forums, it won't let me log in. It doesn't recognize my password, and when I tried password recovery it says it doesn't recognize my e-mail address. If it didn't keep people out I would at least be able to read the forums, so wth? I had similar weirdness when I put in my key to activate the game, it kept telling me it didn't recognize, though it apparently did as I can log onto the game. They need to work on their website or something, its very user-unfriendly and its starting to annoy me greatly. |

Originally posted by TheKraken Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I played the game all night last night, but still can't get into the forums. And I've tried resetting my forum username and password several times on the Funcom registration site. Something is screwy. |

Let me offer you folks this thought... Tho I know it will get lost in the thread soon enough. As a PAYING CUSTOMER: I like the fact that they are taking efforts to keep the boards clear of mindless little trolls who AREN'T paying customers! You know, the people who stop by to take a nasty crap on a game they don't even play. It also keeps them from getting their panties in a wad over non-subscribers who show up and fabricate all kinds of problems that they claim to have. I bet the people at FC are busy enough just riding herd on the servers and CS issues right now... Some are probably in shock. Do you really think you wouldn't hear it if there weren't serious issues? Hell, I would be one of the first to come trumpet them! Games working pretty good folks. Minor issues? Yup, always will be at any launch. A few people with REAL problems? Yup, same thing, there always will be a few. To be expected. What surprises me is that the servers haven't lost their minds! I'm amazed and stunned that they seem to have pulled off a good launch. EDIT: I did have a little complication getting back on the official forums. I needed to create an entirely new forum account. |

Yes Im having the same issue I thought it was because I didnt register but as some people have mentioned they have registered and still cant access the forums then it's a technical problem. I hope they resolve this soon ,the forums were a good source of information "after the time of dice came the day of mice " |

On the launcher they said that they want to focus on paying customers for now. Guess it's only a question of performance, they dont want the forum to crash because there is too many peoples accessing it. Right now the forum are pretty fast, guess if they allow everyone to access it, it would cause some major slow down (see this forum from time to time). |

while that may be true - they are also locking out paying customers
anyone who bought the Retail game has a right to see those forums due to some account problems with Funcom -- that is not happening |

Originally posted by AguithaIt makes sense to provide the best possible service to paying customers I agree with this.
Perhaps what they should have done is pop up a little notice on the forum page there saying something to that effect.
I'm sure they're really busy now, but all those potential customers craving real info and sitting on the fence as to whether or not to buy will (some not all) be deterred by the way the forums just appear to be paying customer access only at present. |
