So, say if I can't find a buddy key but I really want to test the game out on my computer, running at lowest specs possible... So I go buy the game and try it out but unfortunately it doesn't run good at all. Do you think the average Wal-mart employee is going to give me any crap if I return the game, being an MMO which unvalidates the retail key after one use?

Yes.

Let the buyer beware.... read whats on the website of AoC, read the part that lists computer specs... make an intelligent decision.

not only will they give you crap about it. They simply wont let you.  No one will. Good luck on that.

Also, why didn't you do a graphics test on the game first? They had a program to show you if your system could handle it or not.  That's a LOT of money to spend just to see if it would work when you could have done it for free on their site.

BTW, what are your specs?

Don''t mistake silence for stupidity....

I know of no one who will take returns on any type of computer software, games or not.  Some places will buy used games, but not MMO games.   If you doubt your computer specs, then most likely it won't run well for you.  Check the forums at the main site and here to see what people have been able to run it on, then make your judgment.

Btw. Nadia I would not go completely by that site to judge what can and can't run.  It says my Windows XP Pro 64 bit barely meets the minimum.  LOL and also it says my brand new ATI top line card passes minimums but fails Recommended.   A nice site to get an idea, but not a great one as its design favors Nvidia and Windows Vista and gives recommendations to buy those same programs.

It wouldn't hurt to try as most of the Walmart staff aren't the brightest. I've exchanged WoW back then twice times saying that the cd-key "didn't work." Returning is another story though with PC games.. even though everything else in the store can be returned even without a receipt. Hell, I've returned dog food because my dog didn't like it.

true, you can return pretty much anything at Wal*Mart, but they got smart with software and you can only go to the Customer Return.

The absolute best case scenario is you'll be able to exchange it for the same exact game. That's it.

Depends on If you care to lie or not. Take it to another Wal Mart you did not buy it from, tell them it doesn't work and  you want the same thing. So you get a brand new game ....return it to the wal Mart you originally bought it from saying you got it as a gift or whatever and already have it. They will give you a full refund or at the very least a card to use at Wal Mart.

If you don't want to lie ...then no they will ntot take it back.

That tactic doesnt work either, lol.  When you exchange it for the same game they will open the packaging and the security tape right in front of you and then give it to ya. lol, I'm telling ya, they've figured all that out.

You can try, but the odds of you succeding will be rare.  :)
