I fail to understand why people get dogs, then  irresponsibly let them get out of their fences, or homes to run around and terrorize their neighbors. Before you get a dog , you need to make sure you have installed what it takes to keep the dog. If the dog can dig, you make the fence go below ground. If the dog can jump you make sure you have a kennel, if the dog lives in the house, you make sure you have a proper inside gate to keep the dog away from the doors.  If you are walking your dog on a leash and a child comes up and asks to pet it tell them no. Keep your animals to yourself. Just because you choose to have a dog does not mean you need to force your dog on everyone.  Even little dogs can cause alot of damage in one bite, and can kill little toddlers. Imagine this : your taking pictures of your 1 year old in her easter dress in the front lawn  she is wobbling in the grass.. then suddenly a small cockerspaniel comes up biting her in the face resulting in 15 stitches.  No wonder so many texans are shooting their neighbors dogs.. though at this point they need to shoot the owners that way they can't go buy another dog and turn it loose.

All of you, send me money.

Well nothing quite like an overreaction against all canines everywhere.  Certainly we know that every time a dog gets loose its a crisis of epic proportions.

If you are not being responded to directly, you are probably on my ignore list.

Dong, where is my automobile?

people don't care anymore, they buy a dog for protection and they don't train it or at leeast take it to obediance school as a puppy..
they buy rottweilers and pit bulls(and I'm not saying they're bad dogs, I've had 3 apbt and they're my favorite breed and they're damn obediant if i do say so myself)

ok and so they buy rottweilers and pit bulls and pretty much let them sit inside and chew up their furniture dig through the trash dont clean up after them or take them out for daily walks.. which many breeds NEED..
if you don't want to walk your dog buy a docile dog like a dachshund or a toy poodle

don't buy a fucken komondor and leave it inside to grow fat and lazy on the couch or a border collie...
they belong outside and they need exercise or they'll become destructive and disobediant
and don't buy a poodle if you're not going to train it, or any aggressive dog for that matter especially koms or pit bulls

if you're looking for a low maint dog buy a golden retriever, a german shepherd(train it), or a labrador retriever, they're all lovey family dogs, probably wont bite and dont require a lot of maintenance
besides a coat brushing and routine trips to the vet..

The most naive thing that I've ever heard is that we're alone in the universe.

My sisters 7yr old nephew was killed yesterday by 2 loose pit bulls.

Dogs regardless of breed can attack at any time without showing any signs of aggression ever. Dogs are hunters by nature and dog owners must never forget this.  Dogs that have let babies pull out there fur can 12 years later attack a baby without warning. All dog owners need to be aware that even the most trained dog can act upon these instincts without warning at any time.  Even if the dog can flush the toilett, pick up the newspaper and fetch you a beer it can still without warning or even showing aggression attack unexpectadly. All pet owners need to be aware of this and not allow their animals to terrorize the neighborhood.  If you choose to have a "dog " yard,  please respect others rights to have a "kid" yard.  Some people allow their infants to learn to crawl in their lawns, learn to walk , roll around in their grass. Dog owners should respect their rights not to play in a toilet.  If the laws were made so that if someones dog relieves himself in someone elses yard , the owner gets a public urination ticket, if your dog scratches someone you get an assault charge, if your dog kills someone, you get convicted for murder.  Dog owners need to step up and take responsibility for their animals.

In my lifetime I have seen a dog jump right through a glass window busting it out to go after another dog and it's owner. I have seen a small dog maul an infant, I have shot a dog that broke into my yard to attack my animals. I have raised many dogs, many different breeds, and have had them trained very well. One thing is certain about dogs, they are unpredictable.  You can have a dog 12 years as gentle and friendly as can be and then suddenly it will attack.  I do not hate dogs, in fact I like them. I had dogs for years and never once did any of my animals get out. That is where I have a problem, pet owners need to keep their animals secure or they should not have them at all. Owners need to be held accountable, because you cannot blame the dog.. they are doing what comes naturally. It is not their fault they are a dog. It is the owners fault for not taking the responsibilty of owning that dog.

dogs aren't the problem here it is their owners .. we should shoot them instead so that they can't go get another animal and let it run loose.
