I think it would be a waste of resources and time. WoW has been released since '04 right? And don't forget the development before that. They're better off expanding into a whole new franchise or an existing one like Diablo. "Civilization is a road by which man travels, not a house for him to dwell in. Better off just quitting it and shutting it all off. Sucks anyways. Hehe.

As long as it maintains its look.. then it ok.. but TBH it does not need an update. Graphics are great IMHO. Rather them spend time/money on content and expansions. |

It's normal for MMOs to get graphical updates. As a recent example, EVE also updated their graphics not long ago. WoW's graphics are getting dated now that the game is getting older, so why shouldn't they update them to make the game look more appealing? Already from before the game was released they stated they were setting the game up in a way so it would be easy for them to update the graphics when they felt it was time to do so. |

Just keep trying to hate, but it comes back to slap you in the face. WoW is over 4 years old in computer years. That's quite old, especially talking about MMOs, and graphics, etc. It's time to upgrade, and with the WOTLK coming out near the end of the year, what's a better time? |

Im pretty sure blizzard said that WoW is the only MMO they are working on so getting a graphical update is a must since there wont be a WoW 2 anytime soon or even a new MMO from blizzard. |

they better be careful. they don't want to shaft any of their player base because the system req went skyrocketing up. WoW is popular because it plays well on any machine and once you start fiddling with the graphics you may have a problem MMO wish list: -Changeable worlds |

Dark Age of Camelot updated a portion of the graphics every single expansion, and then on the third/fourth expansion totally overhauled it. It was insanely successful and the game is still one of the best looking MMOs out there and its from 2001.

Originally posted by Camman321 Uh, well maybe you should have downloaded a more recent client. The game is old, but up to date. All MMOs have long patches, older ones have more. |

Uh, he said they are considering a graphic update and will do some small things now. But they really have to do it quite soon because many new games with a lot more beutiful graphics are comming out soon and to keep being the biggest Blizzard have to do something about the graphics. Graphics isn't everything in a game off course but it does matter and 2004 graphics wont hold forever. I dont think Blizzard is scared, they just knows that there comes a time when you have uppdate or you will lose subscribers in mass . In a year or so there is going to be a lot new games with new graphics and the competion is getter tougher. This is a good thing :) |

Oops - looks like I'm an internet dog who somehow learned how to type. What has the world come to? |

This is Blizzard. If they're thinking about it now, we won't see it until 2012 I'm a big ol' fluffy carewolf. Be afraid. Be very afraid. |

Originally posted by ThriftEarly in 2007 they started putting up job opportunities for a "next-gen MMO", and in December a WoW CM confirmed that the project is not a WoW expansion. The company had previously stated that their next MMO would not be Warcraft/Starcraft/Diablo-based. So figure SC2 is supposed to come out in 2009, we'll see another WoW expansion and a graphics update in 2010, then we'll start to hear about the next MMO. Figure it'll release in 2013.

I don't know, I'd have to say reading between the lines they are saying that at some point they will have to overhaul the graphics, but there are no current plans to do that, just a little tweaking here and there. Personally I don't have a problem with the graphics. I know they aren't the best looking as far as details go, but they are smooth and responsive and free from zoning issues for the most part. I'll take that over the alternative anyday. |

To be frank they are just hotdogs, their girls are relish, and they need to ketchup on their pimpin. |

Better to work on a new game, like World of Starcraft, or w/e than try to slap more lipstick on the pig that is WOW. |
may not be the best graphics in the world...but they have used the graphics engine well :) |
