I often wonder why people PAY to play an Online game.

I have seen people Log onto a Game and at level 1 noob starting point and ask where the trainer is.
 Is it because they do not want to do anything on there own or do they really just don't get it.

Another good one is show me where it is, NOT where is it  BUT SHOW ME. and these are CLOSED beta 
 People i am talking about.

This is how people are in a Game. I am almost scared to think what they are like in real life.

Most mmorpg gamers don't care about the game. It's an addiction. All they want it to progress and complete as much as they can without really experiancing the world / game. Mmorpgs are not created to have enjoyable gameplay or complexe challenges, they are created simply to get you addicted.

If mmos really had good gameplay there wouldn't be levels.

• Sense of Freedom
• Audio, Visuals
• Creative Use of Technology
• Different Civilizations
• Ability to Travel Distances
• Escape Real-Life

       2.   Character Customization

• Unique Character in a World
• A Character that can impact an "entire" world, or at least some small part of it
• Allows me to get creative in real-life to design my look, design my combination of spells and abilities, and use real-life talents, skills to play better than others

       3.   Community

• Meeting New People
• Community guilds, shared value system, and a sense of purpose
• Help others, and receive help when I need it
• Play with real-life friends and family online
• Play with friends who live in Europe and Korea, etc.

       4.   Fun

• Dungeons that are dangerous, interesting, challenging
• Completing missions, feel a part of something bigger in the game world
• Achieving things with friends, a guild, others, etc.

       5.   Other (combination of world, character, community, fun)

• Spend time
• Talk, chat online
• Hang out in an in-game pub or something
• Destroy noobs, or help them
• etc.

I agree with you 110% with what you said right there, but how many popular MMO's out there have no lvl's?
