I considered a good game as long as I can play more than 6 months. More than a good game is about one year. So let us see, I played 3 good games from Turbine, 1 was WOW. If I really don't have any game to play then I will play 2 "good F2P" but I don't know if those 2 F2P considered as good game or not.. |

For me, probably the defining characteristics are amount of fun, sense of community, and time spent playing the game.
Based on those criteria, probably precu SWG was my all time favorite, followed by WOW, Star Trek Voyager Elite Force (an fps). Maybe all my favorites are not the most critically acclaimed, but I still had fun with them while there was fun to be had.
There are some other games for me that have stood out over the years. The GTA series. The Resident Evil series. Some of the Medal of Honor games. Zelda Ocarina of Time had me enthralled. Ico was so artistic and so powerful, and the only game that ever moved me to tears. One of the few games I consider to be a work of art. |

Boredom is in the temperament of the beholder. |
- Emphasis on freedom, customisation, exploration, and challenge. - There are many unique features. - Ideally there are creative outlets as well (i.e. the Ryzom Ring). - It lets you use your brain, and even requires you to do so. - It has a small population. - There's a strong RP community. - The lore is unusual and intriguing, and instead of being rendered meaningless by static faux-epic quests, it progresses and evolves via live storyline events. Also, the lore does not include good vs. evil: instead it contains shades of grey - moral ambiguity and different but equally valid motives. I prefer to avoid "Medieval" fantasy, but as long as the above points are satisfied, I'll accept any genre. - The company behind the game is very communicative. Although they listen to players and sometimes implement suggestions, they're judicious about what goes into their game, having a thorough understanding of what the game's nature is and ought to be. They know better than to chase the mythical mass appeal, instead nurturing the game within its own special niche. The developers are competent, as much as can be reasonably expected in their complicated field. I wish for a game to have significant elements of art and philosophy, but I have yet to find that. |

One where you feel under pressure to grind due to other people catching up to you, level wise. <3 |
