They would all be very fine, valid arguments if it wasn't for the fact that this event was held in one of the most densely populated cities in the US. As lightly populated as SWG may be, surely you'd expect there to be enough people that play within the local vacinity to fill a hall that size?

I can only opine based on my own experiences, but I live 10 minutes from San Francisco and wouldn't drive for a 3 hr face-to-face with game devs even for a game I play daily. It's not like they were giving anything away or offering any information that wouldn't be shared soon afterwards. With gas near $4 a gallon here and the general crappy-ness of driving and parking in SF, anyway... why the hell would I want to see a bunch of geeks and game developers so I can get some sneak peeks a day before everyone else? A populous location doesn't really fit into the equation. The people who live and play within the local vicinity are probably busy working so they can continue living and playing in the high-cost-of-living local vicinity.

Not that SWG sucks any less because of these reasons, but I find the original argument is quite valid. Hopefully some sci fi type stuff will get into the hands of a company that isn't pathetic.

That's you personally and that's fine but it's not like SWG players only just started getting jobs, worrying about gas prices and making time, those were all considerations for people that attended the summits going back even before the game was launched and  yet they always had far better attendence levels than this one. There really is no logical explanation other than the obvious decline in interest in the game.

oh well not too much longer and the end of this mess will be over finally?

For the number of times that SOE has destroyed the game I loved, even after it was very clear it was not what the majority wanted, I feel that they should start making donations to us- Paradox (SWG)

Hmm, who has the bigger issues here?  The person that supports a game they play and enjoy or the person that trolls forums for a game they no longer have any connection with, harrassing those that do currently play?

That's a really good question.

One we won't ever see a decent enough reason given though.

Speaking as someone who beta'd in SWG's the game started crap and continued that way for a hell of a long time. The 'golden era' many of these noobs speak of didn't even exist. The lag, the rubber banding, the bugs, the god damned incessant whining of some of these very same names about being killed repeatedly in a hospital by a doctor or with a 'bugged' gun that was put into the game. It seems anything that one of these whining little trolls couldn't beat resulted in the very same bitchy posts we see them making today.

Go to AoC for gods sake. it has the very same lag, performance and player registration issues that were found in your 'golden days' of SWG's.

It also has the benefit of not being operated by SOE.

And if the game is so good now why are there less than 10,000 people playing?

WoW, that place looks like it might be able to fit, what...maybe 100 people in it.  Alas I miss the good ol' days but somewhere in my dark and unforgiving heart it brings me a little joy to see that travesty.

Acutally it doesn't have any lag or performance issues at all that I have found.  The game is beautiful and so far has been alot of fun to play.  Unlike SWG which had a total meltdown on its opening day.  I should have known then that there was a great disturbance in the force and ran for cover.

Funny you throw call people "trolls" when your post is nothing more than a bias-laden, attention-needing whine about something you clearly can't understand or "beat" as you put it yourself.

You call us whatever you want but it doesn't change the fact that we are right, you are wrong.

Now to borrow a saying I think you're familiar with...

Don't go away mad...just go away.... --> If you the first flush didn't work, the second one might get you back home.   : )

I live about 50 minutes from SF.  I would have gone, but then they have already answered the one question I have: when will you open a precu server?

I go to Star Trek conventions and stuff.  My wife loves sci fi and gaming so we could have gone and then done some other stuff in SF later.  There's a million things to do in The City.
