Have to say that was perhaps the best speech I have seen on CNN since this race has started. Hats off to Mr. Mc Cain

If buying Marijuana supports terrorists, legalize it so we can buy American.

``We spend too little time and offer too few specifics on that most important of questions,'' McCain, 71, said. ``We make promises, of course, about what kind of policies we would pursue in office. But they often are obscured, mischaracterized and forgotten in the heat and fog of political battle.''

Let's see if he remembers saying this during the general election. If he does run a respectable campaign, and manages to escape the republican parties penchant for 'non-issue' mud-slinging and political fear tactics, I will applaud him for it. I still think he is far too influenced by the republican structure, and when the polls slam him late in the cycle, the gloves will come off and he will attempt to win by any means necessary. Only time will tell.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

You can't possibly be referring to his speech in Ohio today?  His hopeful vision is to have our troops out by 2013?!?  Gee, only five more years of soldiers dying and pissing away our money in the fucking desert.  Great!

It'll all be worth it, though, because McCain will have captured Bin Laden, built a democracy in Iraq, made North Korea and Iran good guys, stopped global warming, found the formula to turn lead into gold and made the first contact with friendly aliens.

Sounds like typical McCain telling voters what he thinks they want to hear.  Next week, he'll be saying something different to another crowd.

Dream on, Republicans, dream on....

Cause what voters want to hear is we are going to be in Iraq another 100 years, and we aren't going to get jobs back that went overseas.  I mean thats sure some damn good telling the voters what they want to hear.  Its not like Hillary or Barrack have been doing this since they started thier campaign.  He is simply stating clearly what he intends to do if he gets in the whitehouse.  All presidential candidates do that.

If you looked at his reasons why he thinks we should stay in Iraq, it makes sense.  He doesn't want to belly up admit defeat and bring soldier home in an atmosphere similiar to Vietnam.  He also doesn't want to leave us vulnerable to potential backlash from extremists in the region and the negative image of pulling out.  It would be like telling the Extremists, they won by blowing up innocent civilians and they might win again if they try it over here.  Also he didn't say the fighting will continue for the next 5 years, but he hopes that it will end within his presidency.
