If I was a mod here I'd lock all these lame threads and allow one official 'WAH I didn't register in time for early access" thread.

Yes I played the game and honestly did not like it whatsoever, its just bland and boring. It did'nt grab me, I will stay with GW, WOW and DDO (which happens to have a kick ass combat system and nice graphics that my PC can handle).

You play WoW and you call AoC bland? WoW has the most shallow gameplay ever. I guess some people just really like their carrots.

As for the limited EA issues. People realize this. They had over 1 million pre-orders of the game, they estimated that 60% of those would want to get early access ie 600,000. That's not an unrealistic projection at all. At 600,000 people getting EA and over 1 million pre-orders they're set to have the biggest launch in MMO history, far exceeding even WoW.

If you didn't get into EA don't be pissed at Funcom, be pissed at yourself for not reading properly and being pro-active about signing up. Other people got their pre-order codes late, I myself got my code the day before EA was sold out because I was lucky enough to call my retailer. They were supposed to call me when they came in but didn't and if I hadn't of gone in I would have been pissed but not at Funcom.

Honestly it's 3 freaking days, 3 days!! 72 hours it's nothing in the grand scheme of things.

To the fanboys.

Deleting or ignoring ppl does not make the problems dissapear.  That is what Funcom is doing.  Constructive posting does not only including prahsing the game.  Constructive talk can also be about negative sides.

What we need to be sure about is that those that DONT get early access are given severs that dont have the early access ppl playing on.  So ppl can at least start with a blank page on the same time as those that had some days headstart.

This early access can never be of any good.  Hopefully all MMOs have learned from this now.

Agreed. But I'm happy they did this because its 3 days less of boredom lol. I can only play TF2 and UT3 for so long before I have enough of killing nubs.

Apparently anyone who is doesn't properly inform themselves can post utter nonsense, and anyone who calls them out is a fanboi. I'm glad most people can discern who is the fool in the room.

I wouldn't pay any attention to what AlanOn rights. Ignore his posts and don't take anything he rights in consideration. He isn't only being negative, he trolls every time. If there's 1 biased "person" on these forums, it's him.

I'll say it again, it was a very bad marketing decision.   If you want to allow X amount of peoples in the game for early access then DO NOT produce and sell twice the amount of boxes.

I dunno, if so many people are complaining about EA, then maybe Funcom didn't do a good enough job of informing people?

I cancelled my pre-order awhile ago (not because the game was bad, but it just wasn't for me), but a couple of friends of mind kept theirs, and I have to say it is pretty misleading at first glance.  Yes it's printed, and yes you should read EVERYTHING, but in this day and age that type of stuff could be considered dirty and misleading.  Is it? Technically no, but chances are if someone has a bad taste in their mouth, they're not going to buy your product.

Now, I have a lot of time for Funcom, they are a good company, and I do understand that there has to be a line drawn somewhere.  But with the launch of a new game, it can't help to have all these pissed off customers before the game even starts.

'All' their customers are not 'pissed off', only the ones who didnt get in after not reading the material they were presented with are.

In the blame culture of the modern western world it's a depressingly common mindset. Burn your mouth on a hot apple pie? Cry and blame McDonalds... Fall of an obviously unsafe ladder at work that you used because you couldnt be arsed to get a decent one and noone told you not to? Cry and blame your boss... Didnt read the presented material properly and didnt know you wasnt guarenteed to get in EA early by pre-ordering? Cry and blame Funcom...

It's a pathetic way to live imo.

Not talking about you Binny, but dam... I have never seen such a whiney, over reacting, anal retentive, tantrum throwing 'community' as those that play MMORPGs...

The curse of this hobby, and the internet in general I guess,  is that the disgruntled vocal minorities rule every public forum, while anyone actually being the least bit positive is shireked at and called stupid names like 'fanboi' and whatever as soon as they open their mouth.

unsafe ladders in the workplace are a violation of OSHA standards and therefore the company supplying the ladder would be liable, Serving Hot apple pie at 200 degress F would also be against the law. Many retailers didnt disclose the "restrictions" on their materials. This is false adversiting.

Defenders of this business practice should be drawn and quartered.

You missed my point, but thats ok.

I guess someone has to support the modern mentality for it to even exist.

Yes, if supporting peoples rights means im part of this "Modern Mentality" then im guilty because if we won't protect ourselves from corporations that take our money and advantage of us sometime even putting us in harms way then we might as well just all lay down so the trucks can roll over us.

Let m try to explain to you...

When I say, for instance...

"Fall off an obviously unsafe ladder at work that you used because you couldnt be arsed to get a decent one and noone told you not to? Cry and blame your boss..."

...I am obviously saying that when we suffer due to our own lack of effort to protect ourselves we have no right to blame anyone else but ourselves.

I am not suggesting we don't support people's rights, but being blameless, even when you are to blame, isnt a 'right'. Not to me anyhow.

Noone took 'advantage' of anyone here. Funcom put the information out there. The whiners complaining about this just couldnt be bothered to look at it. End of story.

Honestly... it's poltical correctness to the point of crippling our responsibilities to us and those around us as adults. Seeing as the rating on this game in a 'Mature', I would expect it's users to be able to accountable for their own actions.

I don't expect to change anyone's mindset in a forum, so I won't post on this point past this one. It's an alien way of thinking to me though I must say.

This whole thing just seems like another gotcha read the fine print thing to me. I registered early but I never really noticed anything that said it was limited. The whole idea that they can't handle the traffic makes no sense. If they can't handle the traffic on the 17th how are they going to do it on the 20th. It makes sense to limit early access because the point is so that the starting areas aren't jammed but they didn't do a very good job of making it clear. Yeah you can blame the customer for being unimformed but why risk losing business like that. It's sort of like keeping up the NDA right up until release and not telling people any details until they are leaked from beta and people start all the omg this sucks threads. It's just bad PR all around with this game.
