I''m Not A Geek.I''m A dork
Girls Love Dorks ;)

Most People are saying that AoC is going to be under WoW .PoP in the 1st Year. I would agree with all them people who said so.But I feel that in the next 2year Aoc Is going to be the top MMorpg. Many people have forgot that WoW took 2years To really take shape.

WoW Had So many Bugs and the servers went down 3times a week for 6hours or longer. When WoW came Out the Pop Was Around 300k-500k Now thats pretty good for a Mmorpg of its 1st year.WoW has now Over Mill Players. but the down Side to WoW is That the game is losing Players each day. and most of them are not returning.

AoC Has gotta over 1`Mill Players asking for beta keys And The 1st few day's Funcom Release the date for open beta it was sold out in  few Days(50,000 Players) .Now where i Live The Game Is sold out even to pre-order from stores i had to go online to get the game.I would say that in the 1st year there is going to be over 400k-700k players by the end of this year. Only becuase the game is High End Game (New Pc) i think that would be the down fall to AOC . But What People are saying and beta and even myself have said funcom on release it's going to fix the Lag and crash on the load screens. So Upgrade or even A new Pc Should wait until release.

I Have a 3year old Vista Pc. it runs Ok with low settings, few lag spikes and 3crash .But I Will be buying a new Comp very Soon anyways for other games in the near time.

But All we need to do is wait. I played the Beta and it was great. if the game sucks at release (I give a Game 6months to fix most of the bugs) then i will be the 1st One To say this game is Going To flop.

But please Players Don't take my word or others. please play for yourself and see if you like it.There is going to be Buggs. But Dont forget WoW Had Alot Of bugs And i mean Alot of Bugs

Oh Don't forget The Great Game War IS coming Out Most people Are going to be switching over to that if there comps can't play Aoc Or if they get sick of WoW.

See You Soon.

Funcom is releasing a very unfinished client to the public, watch the dropout rate after 30 days, it will be very significant.

Funcom should have put the brakes on release for at least another 6 months.  The game is unplayable on about 3/4 of the computers out there.    Watch the complaints deluge the forums after release.

There is NO way this game will even challenge the established MMO's let alone Wow.

At least Funcom maintains their reputation for horrible game releases with AoC.

AoC is launching against the advice of several of it's own developers. Gaute Godager the Director (who showed up mid way in development)  Has taken a game that was suppose to be primarily PvE with RVR consensual PvP to a PVP centric game that rewards Asshats.  Gaute Godager is also a publish now and fix later type of Director, the only reason the game was pushed back earlier this year was because it was completely unplayable on more than 80% of the Targeted systems, and as it is they are still launching with a very, very buggy client and Sans the Disenfranchised RP PVE community as Godager has said that RP is impossible without full on gank.  The game will have a modest audience at best.

First off...no it is not 'very unfinished'. I was in the OB n it seemed quite finished to many. A few bugs here n there, some clien/server issues...but nowhere near unfinished.

If the game runs as smoothly as it did for many at the final stages of OB then it will do very well. Prolly if they did delay for 6 months...those who think it should be delayed would say delay it another 6 months. Sorry no game seems to be truely ready for release.  Takes a few weeks to find n mash the new bugs n stability issues that every game has off the start.

Functionless Art is Simply Tolerated Vandalism...

The expansion coming out this fall will re-vitalize it. Right now people are either getting the strongest epics they can get from pvp or raiding  and creating new characters. The way I see the Burning Crusade and this expansion is "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."

Duh.

Quite frankly, I dont care if WoW or AoC or whatever other game is the top MMO.

All I care for is what game *I* want to play, and I certainly want a game with more depth than WoW or AoC.

That said, I dont think AoC will ever be top MMO - simply because it has high hardware requirements, its gore and nudity makes it unavailable for people below 18, and its quality seems to be rather, well, problematic.

That they havent raised the NDA even that close before release is also no good sign at all.

WoW will still be the top dog this time next year.  Maybe by Christmas 2009 it will fall down to the level of the rest of the games on the market, but even that is doubtful.  (And by this I mean WoW will start to lose numbers and other games will gain numbers and it will even out some).

Summer 2009 I would guess the numbers will look something like this:

World of Warcraft - 9 million subscribers

Aion - 1- 2 million subscribers (if it releases in a good state but they will all be Asian subscribers)

WAR - 500K to 800K subscribers

AoC - 250K - 500K subscribers (mainly due to the higher system requirements turning people off initially)

EvE - 250K - 500K subscribers

LOTRO - 200K - 400K subscribers

That is what I think will be the top 6 games by summer 09.  That is only of course if all of them release on time.

Funcom doesn't ever drop the NDA on their closed beta products.  It just isn't the way they do business.

So while I to see it as a tad wierd, I just accept it at face value.  I don't try and make conspiracy theories about it.

WoW is going to be top dog for quite a while.  It just has too widespread of an appeal for numerous reasons(low system req, universally appealing artstyle, casual friendly, hardcore friendly, universally appealing to both genders, etc...).  I know people who don't play games at all who have gotten in and enjoy WoW on a frequent basis.  I know people who have played MMOs since starting out in MUDs and the original online rpgs who still enjoy WoW.  Games like AoC and WAR just won't outgrow WoW(outlast maybe?).

AoC has a much higher system requirement and will largely appeal to men and the older crowd.  Not to mention the game's standout is its pvp and guild vs guild features.

WAR, though similar artistically, will have hi
