Game hopping since 2003.

I don't get why people make such a big deal about switching games. As a professional game switcher I view games based on their cost effectiveness. Whatever happens, if you're a serious P2P MMO gamer that enjoys levelling up then one way or another you're going to pay a monthly fee this month of around $20USD/£10GBP. This game costs £25/$50, subtract you're fee (30daysfree) and you're only taking a chance on £15/$30. It's not like companies release a major P2P MMO weekly either, it happens 3 times a year at most. This year there's only real buzz surrounding AOC & WAR. If WAR costs £25/$50 and you pre-order both games then you're only spending £30/$60 more than your monthly fees for that year. Is £30/$60 such a big deal that you need to spend endless hours flaming the forums to convince people to avoid it?

In conclusion, I will be putting my £15 on the table and if it doesn't work out then I'm not going to get upset about it and spend endless hours flaming the forum.

My new years resolution: Stop pre-ordering vapoware.

When AoC is released, this is my lineup-

Lord of The Rings Online

World of Warcraft

Age of Conan

Each of the games offers something different, something that I like. When I compared the costs of monthly gaming fees versus dinner and a movie only once a week with my husband, the games are not only more affordable but more fun!

Even if I end up not liking the final product for AoC, I don't intend on whining...I intend to preoder Warhammer (which I may do anyway!) *wink*

Oops...
I guess that came out wrong.

It's not that dinner and a movie with my husband isn't fun, because it is. It's just more fun to hang out in our comfy clothes together, with desks side by side, and play MMO's.

:)

I agree totally. I know for many $15 can be a lot. back in my college days, that was food for a week at least! But now? Thats nothing. One trip to the bar (2-3 hours fun) is going to run me at least 3-4 times that. Go see a movie and have a decent dinner? About double that. A date with my fiance? $60 minimum. An anniversary date - $100 minimum. Hell, a $15 bill makes you feel good when you are writing checks for thousands. Want expensive? Plan a wedding!

The way I see it is that $15 for a month's worth of entertainment is nothing at all. That is roughly 0.50 cents a day. So skip the Coke or Sprite from the vending machine for a couple of days and you got it covered!
