so I'm not really ready to slap down the money for a whole new setup so I figure on upgrading my video card for conan. I'm not *too* worried about bleeding edge graphics popping my eyes out of my head, not yet anyway :) I'd just like to be able to play at a smooth framerate without having to drop the graphics down to Atari-style :) I've got a Pentium D CPU 2.88GHz and 3 gig of ram. Thanks for any help! |

depends on your price range, but the best agp card period will be the rumored Radeon 3850 AGP if and when it is released by ATI. However no matter how great your gpu is your going to be bottlenecked greatly by that processor...time to upgrade to new system.

The RAM will be a huge bottleneck as well if its standard DDR and not DDR2. |

In Life You Have To Look Out For Number 1 Just Dont Step Into Number 2 |
I have the same config as you do but with and AMD processor, Might look in a PCI-e ATI Radeon X1950 Pro series with 512 mb ram on it that is my opinion other smight think differently. This card also has an overclocking software you can download from the ATI website with advance options you can fine tune the card for better performance. Just a suggestion!!! |

With that you probably wont even be able to play the game on lowest settings, and if so it will be a slide show :). You need a dual core processor at least, and DDR2 RAM. It would be a waste of money to buy a new video card, especially a AGP lol.. PCI-e is the way to go nowadays. |

When you are asking for help dont be lazy, tell us everything about your system or indeed copy paste ur dxdiag, atm you are getting ppl to guess and that doesnt help you at all. |

Geez what a bunch of bad advice on this thread, you have to love weekend PC enthusiasts without a clue. Your cpu is fine, so is your ram. The biggest bottlenecks on any MMO is hard disk access and graphics card, CPU sits idling a lot of the time waiting for either of those two. Finding a good AGP card though is not as easy, most cards today are pci. |
