Could you define maturity? Because there are a lot of people who would say that anyone who spends 2+ hours a day playing a videogame is immature. |

From MW.com: immature
1 archaic : premature 2 a: lacking complete growth, differentiation, or development <immature fruits> <a sexually immature bird> b: having the potential capacity to attain a definitive form or state : crude, unfinished <a vigorous but immature school of art> c: exhibiting less than an expected degree of maturity <emotionally immature adults> ----- So here I think we're all referring to crude and crass behavior and attitudes. Playing video games does not make one immature. Playing video games with a bad attitude makes one immature. |

Originally posted by rvjones10 I think in the same manner aswell. Besides that age don't have to equall on how a person act. I can believe as I have said a few times earlier. This mature rating will mostly keep away those kids that actually have good manner online. My reasoning is based on that their parents care of what their kids actually are doing. (Sorry don't mean to offend those that actually cares and also know they can let their kids do things as they know they can handle it.) I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention. |

I would comment, but I find that almost anytime I discover someone being immature ingame and point it out, shortly there after said person informs me they are six foot five, two hundred and eighty pounds, and black belts in multiple martial arts. And I just can't take that risk!

A good community is a community that is not uptight. Think about it. |

Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the priviledge to do so as well. |

Well, when there are boobs involved, that is when you get your immature community. And by "boobs" I mean, sweaty man boobs. |

I think age being a conotation to wisdom is complete BS. I mean, I would try to hold an intelligent conversation with my peers at work and it's like talking to a 5 year old. I think the real problem with maturity and wisdom is in what the person has experienced in life. Hell if I got everything I wanted and was pampered all my life i think i would be a dick too. |

I think Age=Maturity doesn't add up. I'm classed as a teenager and i consider myself more mature then most adults would claim, okay I have bouts of immaturity sometimes but you have to let it go otherwise you could explode. But Boobs and blood for teenagers is like shit for flies. |

Originally posted by LIthos Age has nothing to do with maturity and/or wisdom, that is widely agreed upon. Being pampered and getting everything you want, doesn't always make someone immature. Immature people usually have something to prove to themselves or their friends. It's a game, it's meant to be fun. Kids.. and I use this term loosely, will be in the game because their parents want to make them happy and usually get them out of their hair. Adults.. again I use the term loosely, will have fun doing what they always do in every MMO they have played. Myself.. I will find my fun doing what I always do.. running around with my friends. So is the community immature, thats all perspective.

Originally posted by GreygonI recall back in March of 2004, Lineage 2 had a similar problem with what was referred to as "teh DooDz" type of players. They were generally FPSers, younger and basically disappeared after beta, leaving only a few "DooDz" that truly got very little respect from anyone on official forums or in game. Actually, does anyone really consider this a surprise? After all it's PvP, isn't it? You're going to get lots of "out-of-character" trash talk and high school "eubonics". Many will leave, but remember there will always be jugheads and jerks left in PvP type of games. I suggest join a strong guild, you'll have more fun putting these idiots down then! ZERG hell outta the meatheads! Cheers! |
