Is it worth it to play an MMORPG while dorming in college? I'm going to college in the fall, and I am trying to decide whether or not to take up an MMORPG, because I don't want to miss out on "the college experience". |

Fear most those that appear to have no weapons |
It depends on you, but i suggest, it is really fun to play MMORPG, not just for fun, but it build the confidence inside of you, just try to play any type of MMORPG, try to play Neo Steam, it already finish the 2nd Close Beta testing, the Open Beta will starts at May 20, just try to play it, maybe you can like it, if not i suggest World of Warcraft. The best MMO games. |

I suggest staying away from video games, especially MMO's, as much as possible while in college. It doesn't cause people to flake out and fail classes, but it does give a person who is in danger of such a thing something that they can go into idle mode on. Take up a hobby, like art or working out or something, to fill in your idle time. Something that keeps you from just switching your brain into safe mode like video games do. |

I would have to agree with rejad. I played MMO's during college, but I was off-campus and my gaming, while never making me fail, definately led me to not being as outward and social as a "normal" college student may be. However I do recommend finding something to do other than getting hammered all the time... |

MMORPG Character Monuments ...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest... |
The answer is , sure you can play it. However, let me tell you that even the most mundane dorm of the most boring college will have more going on than any MMO. I say, if your in college....Live it up. Sure , have some online time..but if someone comes calling from down the hall...hit the power and Go. You will be telling stories about college for decades ..and noone is going to care about your EQ2 triumphs. NOw, Playing a MMO has a sense of social obligation..to the guild or a raid. Dont let it. Just be up front with everyone that you may have to go in RL if something comes up. MOst players will be very understanding so long as you are honest and tell them before hand |
