CAN WE FUCKING BAN THESE CLUELESS FUCKS ALREADY

Asking questions is alright but making these stupid idiot topics just because you think are right and need to whine about it are just out of the question.

I read a lot of arguing but not sure if the question was actually answered if Shannia really wanted an answer and not to just stir up trouble..

There is little to no AI or NPC resources being used up in the Border Kingdoms/Siege Areas.  This allows for a lot more people on screen.  The initial numbers posted were 200-300 people, but they are aiming for 500 or so people in a siege.  I'm sure you have seen the technology where only the people closest to you are displayed if there are too many in an area.  FFXI uses the same system and it works quite well.  By removing all AI/NPC calculations/rendering, etc. in the Border Kingdoms they can push quite a bit more people then in normal areas or cities.

Please listen to this radio interview if you have time and maybe you will understand more about the lead designer and things like this:

It is a good discussion, lots of good information. Until that post (and this post) there actually can be fair and good discussion that doesn't praise Funcom and their ideas. Just read the thread.

Well it's really hard to say anything at this point, since the launch is still ahead. But if the cap really is for 50 players I've got no problem with that.

Imagine doing quests in some area where there are 200-300 other players hunting the same crocodiles and collecting the same feathers with you.

Now THAT would be very annoying.

Tend to agree. 200-300 people can be to much competition.

Anyway the respawn timer on mobs was they faster for beta then it will be on release?

Even if one can expect it to be swamped during first time of release and respawn timers are fixed to that, it can be pretty annoying when restarting and things are respawned before you got a chance to move to next group.

But adequat amount of people for the zone at least, let it be 50 or let it be 250.

As to a 'huge Conan lore fan.' If that's true, your gonna love the game at release. It oozes Conan lore and for anyone who has read all or most the stories, you'll be recognizing names, places, and even be adventuring in areas that are in the stories.

[MOD EDIT]

Really, i read most of the Conan books by the time I turned 8 (that was 1978)  so the game thus far is filled with Conan lore and I won't be disappointed?  very nice.. I cannot wait!

Oh yes. While not everything fits the lore perfectly, you have to make some sacrifices for gameplay. Before even lvl 19 you'll have talked to several notable NPCs and even visited locations Conan visited. The first of which is (spoiler below;)

i personally think its betetr for immersion if you don't have to stand in a line to kill a bear in an open wilds zone. so cloning areas really makes sense. i find it worse for immersion if you end up in a dungeon where more players are standing around than monsters.

Also it removes some annoying effects especially at game launch when people all are in about same level range, later on when population is more spread out among the levels and areas you will probably notice these cloned zones less and less.

On the other side i don't like cloned zones in cities and other hubs for interaction, there they should not clone and just let everyone into same zone so taht people can meet...

so for me its actually a plus point to have adventure areas that clone if too many players are there, but cities and other hubs should not clone.

Men are but flesh and bone.
We know our doom but not the time.

I had the great pleasure of playing in the OB before the patch where some of use had the 2.0 Shader problem and was unable to log back in again Issues that are solvable

As for what i did see and thought is was JUST awesome  was the fact i did not have to fight over mobs that were needed for quests etc
The instances or two i was in were HUGH and the Game play was like (to me) DnD or Oblivion combined.

All in all  yes i was able to play this game with my system:
AMD 3000+
Windows XP SP2
X850PRO 256
Sound: Creative 5.1 Live
2 GB Kingston RAM. (3200)

With the settings on MED i could play and have  fun then i decided to fool with things. Bad move on my part
as soon as i touched the BASIC buttion it was game over. was unable to relog again. but like i said earlier Fixable.

Will i sub?.......... YES.
Why?....... well i don't like PvP but i sure like the Game so i will put up with the AZZHATS for a while and i am sure SOMETIME there may be a PvE Server.

HAve a Great Day.

This cloning idea just sux imo... i dont want to happen it like this:

"Friends in ventrilo or wherever"

p1: "Ow where are you? Im here near that tree!"

p2: "O im here too.... i cant see you :O"

p1: "Shit ur in another reality"

:D

That would be why, when grouped, the group leader can right click someone and "Summon to intance", whatever instance they are in.

Handy, no?

Ya know, WoW has an interesting system built into for these things.  That games adjusts spawn timers automatically based on players in the area killing things.  I've seen it in work...its kinda nice.

I'm with you, by the way.  The fans around here were too busy to even address the question before jumping into hate mode.  Of course she phrased it in a bad way....Shannia didn't like the concept.  Her question wasn't trolling though...it was spot on.  Just wanted to know how everyone else felt about it.  Why must we delegate ourselves to ONLY praising them?  I don't even do that for games I love, let alone ones I hate.  I think its important to discuss the things you DON'T like...because thats how these up-and-coming developers learn what things players like.

You all can SAY they don't read forums...and that they don't pay attention to what we say, but most of them have stated otherwise.  Hell, most of them HAVE accounts here.  They listen, oh yes, they listen well.
