Gonna throw out few facts about few things.

First off - Few facts about AOC at launch for the fanboys that seems to be dominating here now.  Probably based to the fact that MMORPG is banning the naisayers even if they are making valid points.

AOC will be launching without spellweaving.  That is certain.
AOC will be launching with or without DX10 support ?
AOC will be launching without siege battles

AOC will be launching with problems for alot of players performance wise.  I find it quite ironic that after a post from me got deleted cause it showed the game crashing I got a following msg from Mod on this website

You prolly didnt get to read my post but you have WAY to many programs running in your background. I saw in your SS that you have 50 Active Processes running. OUCH! Not sure about Vista but XP only needs 14 to run. Turn off all the useless stuff you have running and it will make a BIG difference. You can always turn them back on after you finish playing AoC. Hope that helps.

1.  Im running windows vista installed 2 days ago when the screenshot was taken.  There is only one none orginal Windows vista program not running.  That is my anti-virus that I have turned of and it doesn't matter at all.

2.  I have turned of every single windows Vista coponent that can without  the system crashing.

3. Windows VIsta works diffrently than XP in the sence that the task manager shows all running tasks while XP does only show the users runnig tasks.   So if a person is having 14 tasks shown in their taskbar in XP doesn't mean there arnt more running.  I have 12 processes running as user.

4.  My pc spec.  Some are claiming my PC is crap and thats why its not working.  I have already posted my spec few times including few days ago - I do so here again.

http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/1874/runitbf7.jpg

5.  It doesn't matter if I run the game in highest quality or the lowest.  I have the same problems.  OFC the FPS is higher but the stuttering and crashes are exactly the same.

6.  My PC can run every single game other than AOC exept one - Hellgate London.  Its kinda strange Im not crashing for the other games since my PC is to blame ?  Isn't it ?   Now Hellgate London ... do I need to talk about that sad story of a game ?  Maybe I need to remind you what memory leak did to that game ?   Yes lets do that and maybe someone will see some simularities ?

Taken from a poster on these forums - As a beta tester of HGL I can tell you this is the truth.

First the game was in such horrid shape that it should not have seen the light of release day for a solid two months of bug fixes. Even then the game didn't have an ounce of in-game features that were listed on the website (before release).

Heard anything of this before in AOC ?

Secondly, the game's development company pulled a "bait and switch" tactic on free features, founders features, and subscription features. I mean, they totally rewrote the whole online features comparison table -- AFTER many people had already subscribed/founded.

Well.. Paid for open beta that then got free - Carrot on a stick pre-orders ?

Third, they acknowledged that they KNEW, for months prior to release, that there were major memory leak problems but couldn't find them prior to release.

oh really... where have I heard this one in AOC ?

Fifth, their "support" is laughable at best and at worst it just plain doesn't exist.

WItch reminds me of about 10 emails sent to tech@ageofconan.com where I ask for offiicial solutions to my memory leaks (with detailed info)  - No respons so far.

What is the state of HGL today ?  How many of the orginal buyers are still playing ?  And dont forget that the MMO part of AOC is relying alot more on stability than what HGL does.  Alot more.

But back to AOC.  I was truely hoping for my next MMO game to be AOC.  I like many of the features of it. But then I have to be able to run it for more than 20 mins at the time.  But I can't with a pc that more than good enough to run the game.  It has nothing to do with fanboys and doomsayers or my pc spec or anything other than the fact that the game simply doesn't run less than week before first paying custimors are allowed into the game.

There are numerous signs showing the "lets cash in" attitude of Funcom.  But its not good for the players and its not good for the game.  But to me the most sad part is that MMORPG.COM is directly trying to influence players.  Or maybe noone has noticed that MMORPG.COM seems to have no need to even post one single info about WOTLK ?  Why is that ? Does that hurt AOC promotion ?  I just have to ask.  And I have to ask - why are posts that are warning players that there are still major performance issues in the game beeing deleted - at the same time as ads about pre-orders are left right and center on the website ?

The fanboys are talking about that the doomsayers are now quiet cause AOC is turning out to be so great.  I think the so called Doomsayers have already made their point by now.  Now its up to the custimors to make the true verdict.  There is no gain for anyone coming here in 2 months time and talking about "I told you so".   But its only fair that the potential custimors of any product know what they are buying.  And they know that its working.  But sadly there are doubts - even if FUncom and MMORPG.COM are trying their very best to hide those "small" issues.

I will say this once more.  This game is far from ready.  And thats how it will be launching.  2 months minimum is needed to sort out gamebreaking issues.   But that wont happen.  And at the same time more and more ppl are lured into buying it before release - before they even know if its working or not on their PC.

Is that what any player of computergames should be supporting ?   I don't think so.

Perhaps it is a design problem from the bottom up...

So 2 months doesn' t matter

I always doubted about Oblivion graphics in an open (seamlesss) world MMORPG.

I think the real core of the problem is that you can NOT sacrifice gameplay to more pixels.

And preloads of minutes, closed too small worlds and droppings of frames in tense PvP fights hamper game play.

Oblivion and The witcher are OFF line, Conan is ON line with hundreds of players...

That was just asking for hundreds more problems the moment they choose to do this design...

"We''re not making a game for Trekkies" Daron Stinnett, Perpetual Entertainment

Hey OP, nice post.

One thing about MMORPG.com from the first time I ever posted here.  This website HATES World of Warcraft.  The entire staff of MMORPG.com hates it.   One thing about even the fans that post on the website, they were even mocking MMORPG.com for omitting WoW in it's annual award ceremonies.  I personally think something happened behind the scense between Blizzard staff and MMORPG.com staff.  This site is the premium site on the web were it is not only cool, but expected, for a person to bash WoW, because if you don't you are automatically labelled a troll.

Support Bacteria - They''re the only culture some people have.

The only fact is AoC have issues on some configurations.
The fact is players with nvidia 8x card have far better performance then those with nvidia 9x cards.

As for the other so called facts ...

Saying spellwaving wont be on at release is based on what ?
( same goes for siege battles )

Wow...your entire post should have been just this..the rest is just dribble and ranting with most of it incorect.

AoC will most likely be iffy at the start...like most MMORPG's before it, having played the game i have complete faith they can fix these "small" issues within the first couple of months. The game is to good to pass up because of minor issues that will be sorted.

And before ppl start to talk about me not having the latest beta drivers installed.  I did so in my 8800gtx card.  Sadly that card got fried while playing AOC cutschene while using those drivers (the maiden blood cutschene). Thankfully it still had 2 year warranty so I got a new one - and even better

Im not complaining about such minor issues as games breaking hardware while in beta.  Thats part of it all and players are taking risks by signing up - and the companies have their arse covered for such issues.

But I am complaining about the game performance one week before release.  It doesn't matter if the game is beta at that stage.  You do expect it to run smooth.   But if not then you do expect the devs to come clean - or at least support their product.

And lets keep one thing clear.  Im not the only player struggling with performance issues.  How many exactly we dont know.  But I promise you that there will be alot of help needed on the Funcom support site if the game is releasing like this.   And thats the most likely part cause they are not gonna add features that could potentially make the game more unstable than it already is.

"The one you call messiah is a lie"--- Gary Numan

I believe FC has stated that spellweaving and siege warfare are in at launch, all this guys so called facts boil down to is,

"AoC beta didn't run on my system, WWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Well as Judge Judy once said "Suck it up!". I'll bet it didn't work for a few, I had trouble with the password authentification but worked around it after 5 mins surfing the web and 30 mins fixing it. However the majority had AoC working after the miracle patch (a sarcastic reference made by many nay sayers) did happen and Funcom weren't a bunch of liars (as alledged by same harbingers of doom).

I'm getting a bit sick of the same 4-6 people slagging of AoC because,

A: Their comp didn't run the Beta.

B: They don't like the type of game it is.

C: They're crapping their pants in fear their guildmates will leave them alone forever in D&L.

Life's a bitch, suck it up!

Agricola: "Now the fanbois shall know why they fear the lag, now the haters will understand why they're afraid of AoC!"

Ahaha half of what he states are facts are complete lies.  I would go into detail to defend the game from this guy, but anyone that still takes him seriously is beyond any type of help I could provide.
