Need a game that will allow me to Rob and Kill other players...can I Rape the corpse aswell? |
Lets see... My first love is STARWARS. My second love is MMORPGs. Now normally I would play SWG, but it suxass. I mean I could almost deal with the mind numbing gameplay if my friends still played. Hell, I might be able to get through it if anyone played. The truth is NO ONE plays this game anymore. Frankly I don't see how this game with only 9k in subs spread out over 25 servers can even be called "MASSIVE". The bottom line is, I am a STARWARS fan and I want a new SWG mmorpg. Any chance for a SWG2? |

I am in the process of building 3d models (using Maya) and am putting a "Design Documentation" together for a new Star Wars MMO. It is very early stages and I want to see what I can do and what happens. |

the only hope for a starwars mmorpg is some kind of cartoony Star Wars "The Clone Wars" and that hope is years away and very small... |

With less than 10k players left and left with a skeleton crew. I would find it hard to belive that LEC/LA isnt working with a new Star Wars MMO. Either alone or with a third party developer. If they have learned their lessons. IT WILL NOT BE LAUNCHED IN A STATE OF BETA. They will take their time and make sure that the product will be polished and bug-free. And will it be another WoW clone? Anything other than a open-ended MMO will fail. Why? becouse you cant make a linear story with only repeative content as endgame content for a universe as wast as Star Wars.

Originally posted by HaukenWell, we could only hope that there is a new star wars mmo coming. But let's be honest here, no mmo comes out that is in anything but a state of beta. Until gamers start demanding more for their money and their time it's just not going to happen. Then to top things off, the market isn't really, unfortunately, clamoring for an open world sand box mmo. With the budgets for these games going into the tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars then it is more difficult for a developer to pitch the idea for a game that isn't an EQ clone. If a developer could get 1 million people to come forward and say here, here's $20.00 up front, non-refundable then maybe publishers would come around. However I do not think there is a development house out there that has earned that much trust from the gamers. |

The sad thing is, the entire reason LEC went with Verant as the developer of SWG was that they pitched something that wasn't "EQ in space". Eventually some moron at SOE finally convinced some other moron at LEC that the reson SWG never hit the million subscriber number was that it wasn't "EQ in space" (well "WoW in space" by then). Had development focused on fixing bugs and adding content to the game, instead of taking a sledgehammer to the profession system in a futile attempt to balance 1 on 1 PvP, the game would have done a lot better and they might not have felt the need to vivisect the game to chance a mythical playerbase comprised of small children and lobotomized morons (then again they might have, since the folks who made the decisions were morons to begin with).
