I didn't even manage to watch the whole trailer... I just had to turn it off while my Star Wars fanbrain was churning: "Is this really the future of Star Wars? Kiddie stuff? Whats next, my Pretty Star Warsy Pony?"
Someone is just whoring out for money these days it seems, with no thought behind it.... Heck his owncontinuity crew should have flagged the Clone trooper helmet with flash lights as a "WTF?" faster than a F-16 mechanic would have flagged a F-16 with a propeller on its nose.

agreed, saw the trailer today for this movie (went to see speed racer, which btw was awesome!) and I have to admit that I'm really not looking forward to this movie. It just, I don't know... it didn't seem epic enough, like empire seems epic, or even return of the jedi epic. In fact, the animation actually reminded me of the last TMNT animated movie that came out, especially in the human characters. Anyone know if they were using the same animators? __________________________________________________________________________________________ |

Originally posted by wolfmann George has made no secret that he is marketing SW to a new generation of young fans, so this movie ties in perfectly. Yeah he is whoroing it out to us, but is this really new for ol' GL? Hell how many re-re-remakes of the original trilogy do we need to see or buy? He's turns everything he creates into a toy line and not always with continuity (see the Vader on a motorcycle). This is nothing new for him, in fact I would say I would expect no less. He could give a rats butt about the original fans. He's found a new group of fans to cater to for the next 15 years....our children. "If we don't attack them, they will attack us first. A Star Wars MMO based on either the Clone Wars or Knights of the Old Republic has HUGE potential in the RIGHT developers hands. My hopes are there for it but I'm not gonna hold my breath. |

Are there real informations about a new SW MMO out there? At the moment i know only about some rumors and some blogs, from users that maybe know more, about a new MMO. Ther are some people out there saying the Bioware is developing an MMO in the KOTOR setting but others are saying the Biowares MMO is not placed in the SW world but that an other not named studio is developing an new SW MMO that will start with the TV series at 2009. But this are no real infos only rumors. The video that was postet her is an video from the TV Series starting around the end of 2009.
Sorry for my bad english and best regards. |

Everything you have heard about a new Star Wars MMORPG is all speculation and rumours. Here's my take on it: It is my belief that they are working on one. In the press release on the Bioware site (I think), it is mentioned that they were working on an un-named sci-fi MMORPG. I had originally thought that it would have been based on the Mass Effect universe. But after hearing that they were going to make the game into a trilogy, I figured that releasing a Mass Effect MMORPG would be a bad decision; considering most players will get their fill of the franchise with a trilogy of games. So I'm back to thinking that they are working on a Star Wars MMORPG based on the Extended Universe, (my belief of this because Bioware would probably feel they had more creative freedom there, which is what they are known for). Do I think it will be a "KOTOR" MMO? No, I don't. Lucasarts has already said they intend to continue with their KOTOR line of games. I personally don't think Bioware would make a KOTOR MMORPG, simply because they have "been there, done that". Bioware is a company that pushes the RPG genre foward with each game they release; and they are always looking for new ways to do that. So that's my two cents. |
