In Life You Have To Look Out For Number 1 Just Dont Step Into Number 2

I am a little concern about accounts that only log into online games just to make a quick buck ,these are the chat spammers that cause the economy of a game to go sour advertising there power leveling and buying /selling coin for a price. is Funcom  able to do anything about this so this will not happen to AOC?  Is there some sort of idea, or plan that the developers have in-store to stop this before AOC become another victim?  Any Ideas or suggestions will be enlightening.

Beautiful night tonight, wouldn''t you agree?

i would think for the spammers, you need to have the bot test when someone spams. AKA, please type in the letters in the box to your right {1jhsn5}.

They could also try and put a cap on how much money can be traded at one time.

They could also try and make a policy that must be signed upon acount creations that says that you may not buy/sell AoC gold, or else you can get banned. Then they are able to comfront websites.

SCIENCE PROVES CAPS LOCK CAN CURE CANCER.

Well in some games like CoX, they implemented their chat system so that if you spam the same sentence over 5 times, you are "muted" for 5 minutes, so it eliminated it pretty well... though I'm not playing any longer, so I'm not sure if that is still in effect, or if it is even working as well as it was in the past anymore.

And yes, if there is anything I despise more in an MMORPG, it is the spammers. They can completely ruin a game if the gaming companies running the game don't do anything about them. But in reality it is in the power of the customers. People are just not educated enough to know how harmful it is. In the end you do not benefit, as discreetly your money that you bought is stolen from your account and recycled to another customer. That is how they gain their profit. And if you buy their gold their isn't a thing you can do when it comes to informing the company about someone stealing your money. They'll learn that you've been using gold farmers and all that will happen is that your account will be permanently banned.

People just need to realize that these things are just moronic to use. It may seem like an easy way to get to the top at first but, like I said, in the end you don't gain a single thing, if not lose everything that you had to begin with in-game...

I'm not even going to mention how idiotic it is to give your credit card info to places like those, I could write a 40,000 paragraph essay on every possible bad outcome that can come from that.

The best fun is to game with your friends. :)

unfortunatly there will always be gold diggers in all mmo games to find ways to exploit the game to earn some bucks on selling stuff. Have never understood those people that actually pays real money to buy stuff just to jump quickly to the end of the game and then get bored... really really puzzlibg.. but then again some people are just loaded with money others are just not interested in investing  time to find their own stuff so they buy it.

I agree it is very annoying to see the constant spamming in the chat window about people selling stuff. Should be a filter to lock out certain people from the local so their posting goes invisible forever.

Then again I never use local chat so much usally speak with people through other means so not really a big issue for me since I'm pretty much used to this shit.. however I hope for the future there will be some clever thing done to stop it for those who actually need to local chat for help etc...

Jesus is the Sun of God

Gold Sellers bring the company money, by having monthly subs and the stuff. So you can't quell RMT completly because companies like getting money. But I'm sure they will have things to curb it. But if you have buyers you definitly will have sellers.

its not true the game companies won't do anything about them cause they pay money for subs, i don't think its much money they get from them. these gold seller companies often use buddy keys, trials and such to do the spamming. If they have to buy the game then they often do taht with pirated card data, and they don't plan on using an account longer than the initial 30 days anyway. So overall these companies usually don't spend too much money on the accounts they use and cause much more problems so most game companies want to get rid of them.

but the probleme with gold sellers is that they often adapt very fast to the strategies the companies use against them.So its very hard to permanently remove them from your game. if you limit the chat abilities of trial accounts then they will use buddy keys, if tehse get limited too much over time then there might also  be also a cheap version of the original game without expansions available which they will use then...

So all in all you cannot get completely rid of them as long as people keep buying form them.

So i guess the ebst things the game companies can do is battle the spam as efficient as possible to help their customers that get annoyed over that.

Easiest way to do this is a report spam function and fast customer service that does a queick check if the person was really spamming and breaking any EULA and if they did they can ban them. But as we all know Customer service is never that fast so other measures additionally to that can help too.

Eq2 has a adaptive spam filter built in which gets the spammers quite good but they still get a few messages out usually before the filter catches and mutes them. In my opinnion that filter helped a lot, before they added it spam was everywhere now it still happens a few times but not too often so its not that disruptive. the messages they use now to buypass filters get allready very cryptic, but even these get catched after a bit or after a cs person adds these to filters.

And back to original question, i am sure AoC like any other major MMO will have the first goldsellers soon after it launches. They are a (often unwanted) part of MMOs and they sure won't miss a start of another new major mmo and i guess especially at launch they can earn a lot money faster than later on when price for gold falls down..
