Age of Conan

With the upcoming release of the highly anticipated Age of Conan I would like to introduce a poll for all those waiting on the Servers to update for pvp.

I feel AoC is Counterstrike in Fantasy, nothing more. Its all narrowed down to rush and kill and more kill and oh more rushing. *yawn* Nothing to see here, will end in the same niche as PotBs or TR afer the first hype is gone and the free months spent.

I dont see RPG for kiddies, on the contrary, AoC is ALL FPS, barely masked, and only a figleaf of RP. No wonder they dont make a RP-PVE server. For what? There IS no RP other than chop heads.

I agree AoC is all FPS and a great place for those seeking good twitch based Fantasy combat PVP

And why are you calling it an FPS.

Because the combat is more actionpacked than normal mmorpgs?Maybe that's the fact for a Melee character but it's just the same as always for spellcasting types.

Have some of you tried to do all of the quests on the starting island and read the queststories.There is plenty of RPG in AoC.

For me it's another mmorpg and not a FPS.

The only true RP'ing  in games these days is what we as the players make of it if you dont make a concious effort to RP then no it wont feel like RP but FPS not by a long shot and if you want to call it FPS and call it no different to any other MMO on the market then i guess MMORPG.COM better change there name as well as the genre in general

LOL LMAO. aoc is not fps or twitch based at all.   do u even know what fps combat is?  This is nothing like fps combat.  You think because you u press different arrows its fps lol???

God even in wow if u arnt facing an npc or in their direction you cant hit them.  This just standard combat nothing more.

Rpg's are the base for all MMORPG's and AoC is more MMORPG that the WoW ever gonna be.

This is as close to oblivion as any game ever had come!

Well considering the gameplay isn't built around first-person perspective, nor is it a shooter in the sense that advancement happens through getting new weapons and ammunition is limited, of course it isn't a "MMOFPS".

Yeah, Rangers are able to zoom into a first-person perspective, but they're still clickin' hotbars in order to activate abilities. Oblivion, for its archer gameplay, would be a more befitting candidate for an "FPS" than Age of Conan.

The excellent graphics, superb animations, voiced dialogue and other great sound design among other things all remind me of a quality FPS though.

I agree.. several times in the game I was reminded of oblivion.
