I agree, but then again, maybe they took the "New Coke" approach like Coca-cola did in the 80's.  Release a horrible product on purpose (supposedly), then switch to their regular product and call it a new and improved  "Classic" version.  Arguably the best marketing move ever.

At the risk of getting too happy and hexing myself I was actually able to load the game and play for over an hour without a single problem...  Quite a contrast from crashing 95% of the time when I tried to load the game.  I didn't even crash when I quit the game which has always happened in the past.  On the negative side the error log in the install directory has a seriously scary number of errors in it.  My 2 hour play session generated like 57K errors :(

But at least it didnt' crash.  Now to see if I can get into the game a second time.  That would definitely be an all time record and either the most unlikely fluke or a sign that maybe they fixed the crash problems.  Oh no.... If they fixed it I'm gonna have to go and reorder since I just canceled my preorder earlier today................

Well I just stopped playing after quite a few hours and I gotta say this is a very nice patch indeed. It is nice to see all the happy folks around the forums in the last few hours  i guess FC has saved the day after all.

Now with the PvP event starting soon too this is shaping up to be quite a great experience...

Miracle patch FTW?

my game ran pretty good before the patch.  it seems about the same now fps wise.   however there was a pretty big improvement on load times, especially on zoning around after your first zone of an area and its already cached.  shadows look much better, but i still dont use them becuase they knock me from 50 to 30 fps.

Well . . . . thats why it was a beta. They tested a build and found out it has some serious problems when used by lots of people. So they fixed the problems.

Test -> Identify problem -> Fix it . . . . . . beta you know.

i was always playingok, but now it plays even better. In someareas i get fps in the 100's
