I 550% disagree with you on that one (or maybe 975%). There is utterly nothing worse than having to play a FPS on a console.  Mouse aiming is so much better than controller joystick (and Ive played FPS on consoles for years so I am used to handling both systems for FPS).

Every time I've tried to play a FPS on a console I get muscle tension so bad from frustration that I feel like throwing the controller at the screen.  I can't stand it.

However, I have never felt that degree of frustration playing with a mouse and keyboard.  It is a MUCH more natural movement to me.  And you don't have that max spin/turn rate with the mouse.

So, I agree with you totally!

Try telling that to the Console Elitists.

I agree too the keyboard Mouse control system is just more natural and comfortable.

why do humans build, because it isn''t there

I don't play shooters with a mouse, as soon as I see a shooter I deem worth getting I'm getting a programmable logitech controler for my compy.

As far as the controller vs. Keyboard and mouse debate goes, I wrote a whole blog about it. Gameloading is right when he says that none of the PC gaming elitists will let controller jockeys prove themselves. I've offered to duel any mouse and keyboard player with my 360 controller before. They always chickenshit out when they discover that I intend to post the results on YouTube.

Sadly, my free month with the Pinnacle game profiler has run out at the same time as my money. As soon as I get some more income going, I'll definitely purchase the profiler and the retail version of UT3. I'll be sure to let you all know when that happens and my open invitation will still stand. Anyone that wants to prove, once and for all, that the mouse and keyboard are superior to a controller IN PUBLIC can talk to me. I will be happy to educate you.

As for Cryteks decision... meh...

It would seem that you have put a lot of thought into the issue of M&K vs. Controller.  Which is why I have a question for you.  If there is no difference, given enough practice with both types, then why would game companies add penalties to M&K and/or bonuses to controllers? If it is just a matter of false impressions, wouldn't the companies involved realize this and ignore the issue?

I'm curious on your take.  It seems other people just ignore this information and consider the case closed after a few false generalizations.

Oh, and my roommate read your comment and accepts your challenge.  I have to warn you though, he is the guy that gets accused of cheating when he isn't.  I've always found that to be the greatest compliment of all.

On topic i feel that the real reason Crytek has done what it has has more to do with the fact that Crysis didn't sell to well due to HIGH system requirements And bad plot line [the bit with the Koreans was good but the Aliens Mehh!

I just realized the whole point of the post...

people care SOOOOO much that the old-jaded-redundant-boring arguements about mouse+keyboard VS. controllers... Is more interesting.

Currently on vacation---be back in a week..I know you will all miss me ;)

I always liked Halo 3 on the console, it is something to play in my spare time.  People in the video like Gamloading showed just have pure skill, it's rediculous.

The only bad thing with consoles is I get extremely frustrated, to say the least.  Oddly enough, I am much more relaxed at the keyboard when I play games...I'm not sure why, but I just am.

Well I'm off to play a bit of Halo

its the same arguement as manual and automatic transmission.

Its if you can drive stick you can, you love it, its fun, and it actually gives better performance and i can prove the performance.

Weapons switching with a scroll button is faster then anything on consoles, thats why Halo is made for console and you can only carry two weapon sets.

strafing is easier with a keyboard.

the use of left and right mouse in games like Unreal tournament where they do alternate fires works quicker.

You can customize your controls more, set up macro's, and i find using space bar as jump is incredible easy.

So if you think its better to play on console, the answer is its just less complicated.

Basically you can't drive stick.

Get on world of warcraft (they have a free trial if necessary) and then spin strafing circles around your target all the while keeping your target in the middle of your screen, spamming jump, and spam all of your 50 skills that would normally be asigned on all the alphanumerical characters (0-9,a-z and not to mention you can use shift+"alphanumeric" and ctrl+"alphanumeric").  Record your results and post them on youtube and share the link.

I'm not trying to bash the controller or anything because I play rather well with them also.  I have been playing FPS before Wolfenstein 3D came out in '92 and I've played a majority of my FPS with controllers.  It's just so obvious mouse and keyboard have more potential in many aspects that this argume
