When I browse through the forums on this site I often come across posts about Asian stuff.
It could be about an Asian grinder, Asian/Chinese farmers or my favourite: "a game designed for an Asian population".

BUT almost every time "something Asian" is brought into a discussion it's in a negative way.
And we often talk about Asians as if they were from another planet or something.

My questions are; aren't there any Asians using these forums? You have internet too eh? :) Do you feel mistreated when it comes to "MMO-talk"?

Of course non-Asians are welcome to have an opinon as well.

I was just in Japan and all I can say it the women are hot hot hot.  Even my girlfriend could not stop commenting on how cute all the Japanese women were.  And they have the best fashion sense ever, the men and woman.

Just a guess here, but since most of the negative posts use Asian as a term referring to people living in a specific part of the world, rather than an ethnic group, and most of the Asians on these forums are probably ethnic Asians living outside the countries being criticized (typically Korea or China), they probably either don't care about the negative posts, or agree with them.

Ya I am from Bangladesh which is in asia, so you have to be more specific.  But you are prolly talking about Koreans, chinese and Japanese.

I think most asian ppl have problems with the english language, so they feel saver with their own ppl.

I am not any asian race. But, I grew up around Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese.

I think the main thing is that Asian Peoples are about like white ppl when it comes to race. They simply just don't care. They haven't had really any mass discrimination in the past because of race, other than internal Asian history. A person might get mad if you say something like "G**k" (not meant as derogatory, just explaining myself) or "I hate C***ks" (again) or "Those GD Japs", because that's referring to a specific race. Which is something else most ppl don't understand, Asian and Oriental is not a Race in and of itself (at least every single Asian decent person I know sees it that way) because each country's people are very different.

I'm kinda all over the place here, but what I think is that it's because they haven't really been discriminated in the past for being Asian. Unlike... Black People, Jewish, or Polish who have all long histories of discrimination and tend to get offended when people talk about their race in a way that can be interp. as bad. (And rightfully so IMHO)

Not only that, but when we say "Stupid Asian Games" we aren't downing their race. It's merely a clash of cultures and those with Asian origins in the US are not Asians, they are Americans. American is a culture itself. They may have Korean background for example, but that doesn't mean they grew up in a Korean Culture. They grew up in an American culture.

  They are all over at my place, in Atlantic Canada.   We've over-run my and three other surrounding towns, so far, and more are on the way.

Western culture people typically do not 'like' these types of games.  We prefer 'grinders' that are grinders but don't seem so grindy. 

Conversely, 'asians' typically don't care for our western games.

I wonder how LOTRO will pan out in china.

Well first of all, I don't think we have a difference in taste of game. I highly doubt that asians in general, in this context, enjoy grinding. It's just that they realize the potential to make money, and in that regard, because they're not spoiled like we tend to be, are willing to work hard to make money off of the lazy westerners by playing their games for them... A concept I blame my people (americans) for... There is however, a definite difference in aesthetic tastes though. The cutesy games don't go over so well in america, but they take off like crazy in Japan at least, maybe that's just cause there are more female gamers, or admitted female gamers at least.... Those are the only real differences I see between "Asians" and the english speaking gaming community.

Most of the Asians you might find on this site are probably Singaporean or Filipino as I believe they are native English speakers in those countries. The Asians mostly responsible for the "grinders" people talk about are probably too busy in their own non English world to be concerned about mmorpg.com.

 Lol, even I had no idea where it came from.  It was just a pic off of an avatar dump site that I choose.  But, thanks for letting me know.

asian culture is different......asians like to be together in groups....and also work hard to get somethig....which is reflected in their games
