Originally posted by nitroxxx You're talking about basic MMORPG game mechanics. You'll find them in every game of the genre. It's tried and true so it isn't going to change. The problem in WoW is that for the vast majority of its players, the game offers only these basics in their most boring forms and throws in a heaping helping of grind 'til you're blind. You can't possibly apply such observations to AoC because you haven't played the game to level cap and you haven't done all there is and will be to do in this game. WoW would be an excellent game if they took out alot of the grinding requirements and added more quest lines that were even a little more involved than killing 10 boars, or 12 birds, or 15 wolves, etc. But as I said, that's the staple of MMORPGs, it just shouldn't be the only thing on the menu. If AoC follows the same formula, then I would agree with you that it's WoW all over again, but at this point, you and I simply do not know that it is. And with the list of promised features, I tend to believe it will offer more of a variety and therefore be more fun to play than WoW ever was. |
