well i kinda have to still play WoW..im a Guild leader and although some days it does get somewhat boring...i still manage to have fun.

I would much rather the game play be moved forward BEFORE the graphics. The truth here is, all you are getting is a reskin of 'the same ol same ol' instead of something new and beautiful. IT sounds to me like you would find more entertainment from the pure art industry. That industry is founded around 'new' and 'pretty'. Gaming markets are based around gameplay and the entertainment therein. Instead, because of people like YOU, these smacktard developers have been wasting YEARS of progressive development time focusing on pretty instead of advancing the actual gameplay.
So, the REAL fans of this market are suffering because you art nuts only care about how nicely the boobies look on screen. This and this alone is the entire reason the console market has had the success it has. The hardware is limited graphically, so the teams working on those games have to put more stock in gameplay to win over its audience. Thanks, you've ruined my gaming medium. I suppose I'll just have to move to the xbox like everyone else that wants a decent game to play and leave the PC gaming to people like YOU who only wanna see something with bloom.

I guess if I were equally perverse I'd tell you that 99% of console games are likewise still the same old shit, that they too are trying to push the bleeding edge of graphics just like everyone else with the release of a new chassis every few years, and that if you're such a 'gameplay purist' perhaps you should go find a friend and play some chess and leave these futuristic pastimes to the rest of us.

Clearly you haven't heard of the Wii; look it up. Right now it is blowing away consoles that thought they could repackage the same old crap with new graphics (PS3) and prooving that inovative game play wins every time.

hahha you really think so??? ok well lets see... Wii has what? the new super smash bros game right... ps3 and 360 have recently got GTA IV which has broken every single selling record in gaming history (yes...it beat halo 3 BY FAR) in its first day. funny thing is over 80% of the sales were for the 360 version AND on top of that. more people play Xbox Live than either of the other 2 consoles online. Sure Wii has done some original things, but instead of sounding like a Wii fanboy at least get your facts straight. That console will never EVER come close to what the other 2 are today.

How is what Koku said inaccurate? He merely stated that the Wii CONSOLE was blowing away the other two, referring to the sales of the wii vs. the ps3 and xbox respectively. That is probably the most truthful statement that has come out of the AoC vs. WAR threads on mmorpg.com lol

Koku is right about the Wii out selling the Xbox 360 and the Ps3 .. whens the last time you saw a Wii in a store?  Rare..very rare even after almost 2 years. 

Recent marketing reports show that the average xbox 360 owner has 7 games...while for the Wii the average owner has 6.   Now considering how long the Xbox 360 has been out (way way way longer than the Wii) its actually a sad number...the XBox 360's users considering its age should have several times more Games compared to Wii Owners.  (Hell I own way more PS2 games than most Xbox360 owners own Xbox games)

The Xbox360 is 1. to expensive 2. breaks way to easily 3.  the games on it aren't that great..maybe 1 in 8 games that come out are worth a damn. 4.  It charges you to play online...I can sit on my Wii and play Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros including tournaments for no extra charge plus I don't have to listen to horribly annoying 12 year old cuss out their moms when they're told they have to go to bed.

i do own an Xbox360 and a Wii    play my Xbox a little more  but  come on  Ike owns on SSBB...  both are great  to have and play      PS3     not worth it at all  played it...it was alright right  but you wont get half the enjoyment  as you would a Xbox or a Wii  

and yeah  still takes forever to get your hands on a Wii ...

Nintendo won the marathon already with the Game Boy and the DS against how many other competitors with "superior" super graphics?

On last count I found about 8 machines with far better graphs than the Nintendo handhelds, but always, always the gaming fun factor won.

make a good game and people will play it. WAR is a good game that is based on content.

Ironic how now WAR is put on a pedestal because of its graphics, which should run fine on more rigs without problems, unlike AoC.

there's nothing new except for the 80 level arcing storyline ... i've been waiting for someone to point out new from AoC other than combat (yes that counts spellweaving too) and graphics.   Otherwise all the in game mechanics have been done be for right down to instanced pvp, borderlands type pvp, player cities, and pvpable player cities.

If AoC had WAR graphics, it would be as hyped as Elf Online.

That's your opinion, not mine and certainly not the opinion of thousands of others. The gameplay that I've seen so far is fun and very engaging, and more importantly it adds a much-needed reactive/action element to a tired old combat system. WAR seems to offer little more than an updated WoW system with improved RvR, and this coupled with the all-too-familiar graphic style (I know I know they did it first, but that's hardly the point) many will find after the first free month that it's not nearly enough of a departure from WoW to keep them hooked.

And you're right, AoC doesn't have bland WAR graphics, so people are hyped about it. How is that a bad thing? Sure it may not be the second coming of Christ, but it's a lot more interesting than anything else on the horizon right now.
