Age of Conan

Alright first off, im tired of the Crying about performace, and this and that. I by no means have some crazy high end system.

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual core 5200+ 2.61 GHz

Nvidia 8800GTS

4 gigs of ram

Vista 64bit Ulitmate

See nothing over the top, when i started CB for this game i had 2gigs of ram and i was having issues, the game set me to max at the get, i got in and omg was it bad, so i did the usual turned down to medium, shadows off, bloom off 2.0 shader etc. the normal tune down most people do in MMOs with med range systems.  it was ok i could run in the wilderness decently, kinda like being in UC in wow on high when its packed for an example. Guess what i got myself two more gigs and OMG im runing on high, Shadows off only cause they drop my FPS to 10-15 and everygame ive ever played they always do, but i have bloom on, shader 2.x and im runing fine, wilderness no lag or hitching, in Tortage yes i get hitching but its rare and far between.

  Think of this game like Vista...RAM HOG! honestly there is no reason for you all to have this problem unless your having latency issues cause your downloading at the same time or somone on your Network is. max your ram out and have atleast a 512 card and you should run alright if not better then good IMHO.

While not over the top this is still a high specs system and way higher then what the average joe uses.

And still you had to twink the data to get performance.

So basically the game is alienating those who have not bought a new G.card in last 1 year(9 and 8 series),those who have them and not met other conditions ie newer processors,more RAM,those who have them but not willing to take a crash course in twinking wih the game data and then those who have the system willing to twink and STILL nothing works for them.

This is ofc all just on technical side  for those who actually will buy it because they think the game is fun and don't mind loading times.

Seems a pretty gamble to me for funcom.But the first month will be the prove .If they can have a smooth luanch and iron out the bugs to make the game playable they might still have a successful game here.
