Hello everybody, Im considering trying this game once it gets out (i seriously never get in any beta), but i'd like to know from (ex)WoW players how much they like the movement in-game. Why i always loved WoW was because i could jump around everywhere on everything without any problems and move around my camera, how does it work in AoC? How can you walk with your mouse, or move around with your camera without having your character move etc? WoW players, do you like the movement in AoC just like WoW? Thanks, |

I will let others detail the controls, but I will comment by saying that you will find AoC movement is not as smooth as WoW in terms of character movement. It is not bad, but with improved "realistic" graphics, you kind of have to deal with this also. And for jumping around on everything and everywhere, I cant say this is 100% everywhere (so fanboys dont flame me too hard) but there have been many reports about invisible walls and loading screens etc that may interfere with your enjoyment of jumping on things =) Hope that helps. |

Originally posted by Smikis smooth is a broad term when talking about it in this context. I consider smooth to be how natural the character looks while moving, or basically just how well they flow. WoW and AoC are obviously in different graphic leagues. While both good, AoC has a realistic approach, and WoW is more artsy/cartoony. And of course this is just a matter of opinion, but by reading the boards I know others feel the same that character movement is just smoother in WoW. I would guess that it is because of its graphic design that makes it easier to accomplish this. AoC just seems clunky and not natural to me, but when you are standing still by a lake, or deep in a forest, then it is obviously graphically stunning. Give and take. |
