Look, I'm reading this as a precursor to see if whether or not I should invest in this game come release day. Negative opinions, and also positive opinions, when backed up by evidence are totally welcomed. So, keep them coming. What I'm really worried about is it seemed a lot of people arn't looking past the lag/bugs and enjoying the game's mechanics; and they also arn't being immersed. That's more of a teltale sign to me about the a game than bugs or lag.

Also, most of the people who seem to have favorable opinions about this game are just giving short one-liners, often with dumb language and acting like children. I'd rather not be playing with these people. I'd rather play with someone who wrote a compelling and thoughtful review of the game; and it seems like the majority of those people arn't liking it....

So where should I go from here? You tell me. It doesn't look good.

Your are not far wrong there Almuderas. Actually some of the more balanced reviews find stuff to like about the game but they get shouted down by the fanbois if they mention stuff they don't like.

I think this poll is actually quite nice indicator of how the game is being thought about currently. That is to say, about 2 positive votes come for every 1 negative and the majority of people are doing the sensible thing, namely waiting for release to form their final opinion.

If you have doubts about the game for whatever reason, I would direct you to the latter part. Allow yourself to relax and wait for release. Allow yourself to get a first hand review and/or try it via a buddy-key or even wait for a free-trial period to crop up.

Pre-Ordering is always a risk and unless you are absolutely certain you will be able to enjoy the game enough to stick through even some rough spots, you should not do it.

If you take this poll as an indicator, it's not really great for Funcom, is it?  Two positive for every negative aren't good sales odds, especially when you consider that nearly 45% have played the beta and are still undecided.  You would assume that the majority of people who got a key and bothered to download something this big, were, at least at one point in time, interested in the game.  I preordered and I didn't cancel, but I don't know that this poll and the amount of complaints predominantly about performance, is a very good sign.  Funcom can spin it any way they like, but they have a bit of a mess on their hands.

Open Beta-Participants are in no way a good indicator of the player-base of a game, particularly if it is capped, like it is in this case. You get all sorts of people who just see "Oh lookee, a Beta, I never heard about this, don't even care, but hey, free playing!".  45% Undecided means that people will at least give it the benefit of doubt until release and withhold judgement until the final version. You'll get roughly 23k people waiting till release, roughly 17k still preordering, and maybe 7,5k not preordering anymore.

I think that's pretty OK, considering that those 23k will be around at launch to check out the game. If FC does a good job, they will proceed to buy it, if not,  they won't. So it's all up to them now.

And in a post-Vanguard MMORPG community, I am thinking that is a pretty good thing.

I don't think it's a good indicator either, which is why I prefaced my post that way.  I only posted because you seemed to think it was a good indicator.  You've confused me.  Anyway, if I were to go by this poll and the majority of posts I've seen all over the innerloops, I would say less people are interested in pre-ordering this game than were before.
