Age of Conan

Well right off the bat i can say this game is way to "high end". i have a decent computer an with everything turned all the way down i can barely play it. "l33t" graphics idea is great in concept but if the avarage gamer cant play it then whats the point? AoC is going to end up with a very small player base. wish they had an option to really dumb down the graphics alot if you want. more so than is possible now. i wouldent care if a few other players got to play with badass looking graphics and mine looked like an older mmo as long as i can play along side everyone else. graphics is nice but if the actual play exp is terrible then whats the point? ah well.. my next prob is loading screens. i havent seen loading screens this much since EQ and this is 20 times worse. if i ever meet the dev team in real life i will punch them in the head for this lol. and 24 gigs of space after install is quite insane also but since this dont really affect the game its not a huge deal, just a annoyance.

well thats it on my experiance, i gave up an uninstalled the game. its too bad tho, i bet it would be a pretty good game.. if it was playable. grats to the people with killer top notch computers. hope someone is getting something out of this game. :)

As with anything technology based, if you don't update every 2 years or so, you are going to fall behind. This is a new game intended to be played for years to come, why would they cater to your 5 year old machine? Drop 600 dollars and build yourself a new computer.

dont be an asshat. this just seems to be the problem for a huge amount of people. im not bashing AoC saying its going to fail or some other lame stuff people have been saying, just logicly if the majority of people cant play it well then its going to end up with a small player base. im sure it will be successful for those with sweet sytems. would just be nice if they made it so the rest of us can play to. thats all im saying:)

Drop 600 dollars at the moment? cant be done. have real bills to pay, an a son an daughter to feed, and other far more important things. unfortunately i dont have a $20 an hour job lol. im sure i will ungrade eventualy. but not everyone has the money for such things all the time. only prob is by the time everyone has caught up they will probably have moved on to other games by that point.

Yea I understand where you are coming from. This is probably the main reason why WoW is so popular, and why it won't be dethroned any time soon. A lot of people just don't have the money to upgrade, but I don't think we'll be seeing any next gen MMORPGs with cartoon style graphics like WoW in the next few years. Well, Warhammer is still up to come, but we'll see I guess.

There are plenty of slightly older games that you can run and still have fun.  I would recommend moving back or too those if you are unable to afford the better parts.  There is plenty of games that are worth playing in this world.  Also, you shouldn't be mad at AOC persay, you did just get to play a free beta.  Take it for what it was an experience.

well im not really mad at AoC, my original post wasnt even ment to seem as if i was bashing the game hardcore or anything. more of just what i exp and a warning to any people that dont have high end computers who are thinking about playing.. they better upgrade or something haha.

i DO hate all the load screens tho, for real.. but i hate them in any game heh.

Maybe you should better stick then to PS2 / XBOX etc. ? No really, I mean PC "hobby" is far from expensive if you buy every 2 years new parts to build a new one which will cost you around 900€ for a TOP PC. Yes it seems alot but when you save already each month for 2 years money it really isnt big of a deal. Thats what Iam doing for my HOBBY, if you cant afford that I have to say go buy an Xbox, PS2 or something.

Sorry but Iam somehow pissed about ppls like you, if there would be just ppls like you we still would be playing Pac-Man, Tetris and Pong on a C64. No thank you.

And here is a news flash for you, there are settings in games you dont need to play on highest.

Maybe this game really sux I dont know yet cause Iam still downloading but to cry always about new games that you cant run em on highest settings with a 2-3 year old machine is more than stupid really.
