Cynical? Me? Never.

Great? No. Good? Sure, its better than a lot of crap out there.

Best PC list:

D&D Gold box games

Neverwinter Nights

Elder Scrolls 3

Majesty

Civ 2

EQ

Dawn of War

KOTOR

Nah, this game doesn't even compare to any of those.

Barely even mediocre at best. The actual gameplay was so boring I didn't make it 2 weeks past release, and the way they raped and totally ruined the story was reprehensible. Just like everything Turbine has ever done, it's really crap in a cheese wrapper.

OP forgot to mention that this game is absolutely stupid easy, they hold your hand through nearly the whole thing, it's too damn easy and with every patch Turbine dumbs it down a little more for the "casual" players. Apparently, in Turbine's eyes, casual = stupid, because that is the message I am getting from them when I play this game. And I have played it, alot, I have 3 level 50's on the Nimrodel server. With every patch they also like to make the game more solo friendly, pretty soon you will be able to solo raid dungeons and everything, hell, I bet you will be able to solo 95% of the Mines of Moria expansion, is this not an MMORPG Turbine, I could have sworn that this was an MMORPG and not an RPG, ffs.

Oh noooooos the AoC peeps are coming here to bash the game hoping to recruit more.

Two different games two different types of gaming.

I have played LotRO since day 1 of open beta last year, since when can I not express my negative beliefs about a game because my signature says something about AoC? Yes, I am switching to AoC the moment I can, I've had enough of Turbine's crap, there is no challenge in LotRO, and with every patch they take a little more of the MMO out of MMORPG.

So... you haven't played since 2 weeks after release, and you're still making such absolute criticisms against it now a year later?

Dwell in the past much?

Also couldn't help but notice how you bash Turbine in both your post and your signature link...

Seems to me you've simply got a grudge and would bash anything they did.

No... I don't think the OP "forgot to mention" anything. I think they perhaps just don't share your point-of-view.

THESE ARE MY OPINIONS, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM, WHO GIVES A FLYING PHUQUE!

Greatest game ever? Does this mean on all systems?,,, where the hell do I start.

Ok, starting from Nes,, One of the Ultimas, can't remember  which one though, been way to long ago.

Genesis = Shining Force

Snes =  FF4 or Breath of Fire 1/2

Ps1 = FF7 bar none (haters just forget about it, beyond any doubt the sales of this game and all the other crap that has followed it since proves it.)

Ps2 = bah, never really played much with this system, although it had some good games, nothing hits me like the previous systems did.

PC = Fallout 1 and 2, Planescape; Torment, and MOO2. These games I reccomend to friends anytime anyone asks for a gaming reccomendation.

I KNOW both versions of the "Sims" are the highest selling games in history, and I own them or have owned them all as well. However after the initial new factor of the base game and expansion wears off they usually hit the shelf for months on end until the next new expansion comes out. The game as a whole has no staying power for me.

As far as MMORPGs go, my #1 is Earth and Beyond before EAxis bought out Westwood completely, and next would be Pre NGE/CU SWG.

Ummmm Okay, but based upon your experience as quoted in your posts:

LotRO - Nimrodel
Tolbluegar - Level 50 Guardian, R5
Tolbluedar - Level 50 Burglar, R6
AoC - ???
Tolbluegar - Future Guardian
Tolbludar - Level 50 Hunter, R5

The game obviously gave you some value for your gaming time.  Three level 50 characters, and I am sure it wasn't a crappy game for at least the first two.  Most people would have quit during the first one.

Hmm...like others here, I enjoy LOTRO, but it is a stretch to say it's the best PC game ever.

My favorite PC games, and the ones I think are the best PC games ever, are:

1). Thief II

2). Wing Commander Series (including Privateer)

3). Jedi Knight series.

I used to play LOTRO for few months but I get bored rather fast: the RPG value of this game is almost nonexistent – Diablo 2 had more customizable characters than LOTRO:
skills level goes up automatically and feats choice is not even worth mentioning so there is no chance to create a unique character…
Also itemization and monster variety in this game is very poor
- retexturized wolfs, bears and orcs ware driving me crazy…

But I did enjoy the graphic as well as community and stability – the best I ever met in MMORPGs. Overall to “casual” oriented for me, but definitely worth of trying.
