My opinion...is your thinking too hard. you like LOTRO..play LOTRO. Dont worry about the future, these games are for the here and now. Worry about AION when AION comes out. Good Luck

I agree LOTRO is a great game. If you are having a great time playing that, then you should do so. ****************************** |

You guys know LOTRO? Is there PVP?? |

There is PVP in a sense. Its called Monster Play. When you reach level 10 on your main char it unlocks monster play on your account. You can then pick a monster to play as. They will be level 50 and you do quests with them to get points to spend on new skills etc. In this PvMP zone only regular chars over level 40 can enter. So as a monster you have a PvE side and Pvp. Same if you are a player char, there are quests here to do for them as well. ****************************** |

It definitely isnt for everyone. Personally I love going out as a warg and stalking my prey. It feels more like your playing a seperate game of lotro from a different perspective to me. It definitely isnt the rip roar 2 side battle you see in some mmorpgs but thats what makes me like it |

I'd say play LOTRO unitl Aion comes out. Not sure when Aion is releasing so waiting for it alone wouldn't be too smart. Also Aion is on the top of my mmo list this year. So I suppose I'll see ya there someday! |

I just dont want to get too much into the game....so when AION comes out i am left alone on LOTRO while my friend plays AION, thats the thing, so far im getting into it REALLY much, and about PVP, ive been doing PVP only in WoW, since PVE we more like....farm farm farm and change epic from epic....and so on |

AION seems like a completely different game from LOTRO, if you like the rings game, you may not like AION. |

I'd say just keep playing what you like. Make new friends in LOTRO adn have fun with them too. When Aion comes out see what you want to do then, but for now play what you like playing. Don't restrain yourself for something that "might" happen later and not get the most enjoyment from LOTRO. Just have fun with what you are doing and meet other people too. ****************************** |

I agree with Czzarre about not worrying about the future. Worry about Aion when it comes out. Far too many games have not lived up to their pre-release hype. The game may or may not live up to your hopes or expectations for it. Do you really want to spend months playing a game that doesn't do it for you, only to find out that the one you were waiting for doesn't either? Play what's fun for you now. Playing LOTRO now does not prevent you from playing Aion later. |

Why wait for a game that MIGHT be good. I play EVE for PVP, but have tons of PVE fun in LOTRO. It's a very solid game. Well polished. Lots of fun. I am supprised how well they hold true to Tolkens work with all the storylines and maps. Just remember for anyone who tries it. The noob experience is but a shadow of how the game gets at mid-high lvl. There are alot of cool creepy areas also. I could never get into Wow's kiddie cartoony graphics. No offense to anyone who enjoys Wow. The community in LOTRO is top notch. Of course every community has exceptions, but on average you don't get the mob of annoying brats on this one. My only regret is I waited so long to try it because I listened to all the nay sayers. If you are over 25 years of age in real life check out TOG (TheOlderGamers.com). We have a great Kinship on the Elendilmir server. TOG has groups on just about every MMO and online FPS. I am also in their corp in EVE. |

I Aren't 25, but im a old gamer :)
I'd like to join your kinship, but am i able to switch from my server to yours without re-rolling?
edit : i am 18 |

hehe, I am on the same server as TOG... Order of Narya here.. I love LOTR. Hope everyone gives LOTRO a good solid effort. The game gets very interesting when you level high enough to visit the Great Barrow. From that point on the pve of the game gets pretty unreal. Success is your proof; |
