With the current exchange USA/EURO, is way cheaper  ( 1.5 x ) to buy a USA version of the game, and pay the USA fee.  15 $ = 9 €.    This make ....interesting, to buy that one, the usa version, and pay that.  I know some people that play anyway on usa servers, and the lag is not noticeable enough.   What people here think about? is a good idea?.

Played twice on a US server on other games. Its ok if you can live with the rather low populations. If the game has any kind of events you will miss them, because they are held on prime time.

let me put this to you.. instead of considering 50 ms you will have 150.. or instead of 120 you will have 250-300.. having 250-300 will decrease in game fps too by atleast 10%  as minimum

second 50$ and 25  Pounds or how its called ;p  are pretty much same.. + you will pay another atleast 5-10 $ for delivery

another note play times.. half of usa will sleep when you play and most will play when you sleep thus making any kinda of pve highly complicated for you. and longer wait times for pvp.. not to mention pvp sieges .. imagine raid at 18 pm for them that would be around 18+12 =6am at night.. go figure..

are those few what ever your currency is worth ruining whole game..

I used to live in NYC for three years and play LOTRO on US servers. There was like 300 ms difference (unnoticeable for human eye), but no impact on fps whatsoever. I also buy AoC US version: it is cheaper and US servers are in general more stable.

But it would be great if anyone playing AO could say something about Funcom’s way of server’s management.

Yeah, for some reason US version is cheaper than the EU one. But when you buy it, and get the key, and register it, if you live in place that is other than North America, you will not have dollar option for your monthly sub  and early access, you will have to pay in euros, unfortunately. I just done that, from Funcom store.

Buy the european version. I recently moved to the UK from the US and still have my WOW account. The ping is at 450 ms, which makes it really hard to pvp effectively. Going from 450ms to 50ms big advantage. 50ms is 20 Hz (or fps) which is about as fast as we see. You WILL notice anything higher.

Even though i have american friends who will play AOC, incompatable times will make it hard for me to participate in any guild events. It sucks to not be able to assault x city or participate in Y raid because of time zones.

My suggestion is to get the European version if you live in Europe.
