... need some help with the hardware. Heres what I got so far

AMD® Boxed Phenom X4 Quad-Core Black Edition Processor 9850

4GB (2x 2GB) DDR2 PC-6400 RAM

e-GeForce 8800 GT Superclocked 512MB GDDR3 PCIe Graphics Card

What do you guys think of my choices? Will this run AOC on high settings fairly easy? Or you think I should go intel and ATI.

Let me know what you think

its fine.

I have heard that the black edition is excellent value with the latest price drop albeit Intel generally update the chip tech before AMD. The card is good but there is rumour that Nvidia are going to incorporate the acquired Ageia physics stuff in next gen 9 series card releases.

Dont buy AMD stuff, INTEL is alot better, like INTEL Core 2 Duo 8500 ! i heard Phenom is not good product

For video cards, choose aleast NVIDIA 8800.

Have any actual facts to support your conclusion...

beware 9600 is not better than 8800. my tech guy tell me to check the second number for video cards. Bets way to compare.  For me,  the best investment is to choose 9800 GT 512 mo instead 9600

Nothing to see here... please move along...

I'm currently running:

  • Intel core 2 duo (I think it's the 6600)
  • 4GB Corsair RAM
  • eVga 680i motherboard
  • nVidia 8800 GTS
  • 2x300 GB Seagate hard disks (RAID 1)
  • Windows Vista x64

I have every graphical slider max'd in the game and so far I haven't dropped below 20fps, mostly I'm in the high 20's.  So far so good.  :)

(Your mileage may vary, blah blah blah...)
