I have been reading a lot about the beta since it came out and have hear a few different versions of this issue. I have heard that nearly all areas are instanced, now is this because through level 13 you are in a tutorial type of area or will this be for upper levels as well? I have been interested in this game for a while now, and thought the instancing was only in the tutorial area and then it dies down and is just zones(like EQ or WOW so that other players are in the zone with you opposed to their own instance like in GW). Thanks for any input! |

I've been reading around a lot as well and apparently only the first few levels (1-20) are heavily instanced to progress the storyline. After that I guess you're out there in the world doing quests and stuff *shrug* |

Levels 1-5 are solo instanced, then 6-20 daylight are not, nighttime are, with the ability to switch between the two whenever you please. After 21, no more instances minus some dungeons and special quests. |

Like has been said 1-5 is solo, the city has day and night where night is a solo version of the city. However everything in the game is instanced similar to the way eq2 is. There is a command to switch instances that shows you a list of all the instances of a particular zone. I don't recall the command someone told it to me when I was having problems in one the zones with lag. Beyond the city it is hard to say what the world is like cause there is an NDA in place but I'm gonna guess it is similar to eq2 where you have large outdoor zones that are instanced by populations and some shared instances dungeons with a population cap, some group instances and some raid instances.. Oh and of course there are PvP instances.
