Age of Conan

Well one thing we know about the game is that it has a MATURE rating, so if you are an adult and cannot afford $50, you better find a new job.

You folks under this age know this game has a Mature Rating right? But yeah, I know, thats not going to stop the young ones (16 years of age and below) from getting their hands on this game.

anyways... (17 years old was that unknown factor for me), but

Even if you are a Part Time College student, got a job at your local coffee shop and make $7.00 dollars a hour, you should be able to afford this at no problem (unless you only work 7 hours a week).

Being 18 years old and I still live with my parents is still no excuse, your an adult now.

When I was 18 I was working with my father as a Ramp Agent at Ft. Lauderdale Exec Airport , I  made good money and that was in the late 80s, early 90s for me. My starting pay if I remember was $12.00 hour as a full time summer job.

Conclusion: $50.00 for a hobby is well worth it, if you like it.

Money should'nt be a factor at our age. (this is my personal opinion of course).

Its not really $50. I would hope to get at least 3-4 months out of a mmo, so that's closer to 105 spent.

That's not quite right either. See if Conan was the only game coming out this year then I would agree $50 or 105 isn't a big deal. However you have War, Spellborn, Spoor, Stargate to name just a few. I have better uses for my money than spending $50 to play a game for a month before jumping to the next.

Maybe I'll win one of the last few beta contests and get a broader look at the game beyond the pvp weekend. Maybe I'll like what I see. Right now? The info and time spent in game isn't anything special. It not enough to make me want to go buy the game. Is it a bad game? No. I just didn't connect with it.

Why pay for a game like Age of Conan when you can continue to play good single player games until a good MMORPG arrives? Thats what i will do.

In what way have a greedy company like Funcom deserved my money? In no way. I sincerely hope Age of Conan totally flops and people start getting their eyes up about these greedy companies that delivers just a tiny bit of the game for the audience and rest is hided in shadows for the larger population. Unfinished products with never ending bugs and crashes isnt a finished product. They is selling pre-orders on hype and companies like Funcom is the ones that is really gonna hurt the MMORPG genre by there way of acting.

Its certainly not about the money.I don't wan to beat my drums but i get paid between £27-37($50-75 )an hour so less then 1 hr work = that game.

But there is a principle about things.When i do my work i don't expect to tell people oh heck you only waste a few hundred on me stop moaning that i did a bad job.

Whatever you do in life you need to do it professionally and if you give a shitty product expect people to be annoyed be it a crappy $5 burger or a multimillion dollar project.

I have a post somewhere where i was bashing on funcom for overcharging europeans.Its not the extra $5 a month that hurts me but its the stealth greed done by them.

2 large combo meals = $15

2 porn mags = $15

1 large deluxe pizza = $15

2 Movie DVD Rentals = $15

Give up anyone of these things and you have the cash for a monthly sub. I aint rich but damn!

I think some ppl are clearly missing the point.  It's not that the game costs $50 or whatever, it's wasting money on a game that has yet to impress some of us.  I'll just wait for a free trial and then decide.

deal with it man! it aint a burger or a multimillion dollar project. it's a freaking game and you play it for fun. when you are done you turn it off or throw it away. you dont have to take out a loan of a second morgage to play this game. if it's crappy, dont play it anymore. i guess what I'm trying to say is, you are making a big deal out of nothing.

buy the game or dont buy the game. all I want is for everyone to stop their bitching in regards to the price tag. it aint that much

 Thats why ive held off for so long on pre ordering myself. I just havent seen enough to justify throwing 50 bucks at it. So guess Ill have to wait for a trial.

  Not everyone has money to throw away. Especially If it sucked and they know they are going to have to blow another 50 bucks on another potentially good game. Then you start running into the hundreds of dollars in games minus sub fees ...not to mention some people might spend money elsewhere. 50 bucks definately isnt chump change for me unless that would be the only game I bought this year.

if you can't spend what amounts to a pair of cheap sneakers on a game than you should be working...not playing games. But really man, it's just 50 bucks and in this day and age almost everyone can afford that. Come on man...you aren't buying a new car. This is not a life and death decision.

  If the game is worth it,  50 bucks is fine. But Im not blowing 50 bucks on what could be junk. I dont throw my money away ...I dont have 60 bucks for lunch every day nor do i have the money to spend on a 65 dollar pair of shoes every month. For all I know this game sucks balls and Ill have to run around and spend another 50 bucks just as fast , not like i live at my parents house
