Especially with 8xxx and 9xxx nividia cards.

Switch to shader 2.0.

Sure it wont look as pretty, in fact some textures will turn "default" as in white and black squares, this is rare though.

But still, much of the VERY intense loading times, game halts or "freezes" is due to shader 3.0.

Not saying it will solve it for you but it has for a lot of people, even if you are on an ATI card you should try it.

You can also constantly flush your cache, this gets a tad more annoying though.

Both options is under advanced in the graphics tab.

In fact the performance gain was enough for me to pre-order yesterday, even though I had decided against it judging on my previous experiences with this issue.

Game still has issues but this one was game breaking to many, me included.

Also if you are on a Multi Core processor, switch the processor affinity to only run on 1 core.  I know there has been a fix on this released by windows in the passed.  Infact I manually installed it so I know its there, but somehow Conan breaks that fix.

im running an Intel Quad core 2.40GHz, 2046MB RAM with a GeForce 8600 GTS...

game looks gorgeous on the starting beach section, but Crashes when trying to enter Tortage on anything but the  'LOW' setting.

managed to get in on LOW and do part of my assassins destiny quests. I have to say that even on low settings the game still looks cool.

** im aware that the OB build we are playing isnt the final code, so keeping my preorder open (im preordered ages ago from Game... £17.99, cant argue with that lol :P )**

it did help sligtly but not enough to make me want to buy the game as it is at the moment . i ll either wait untill theres a trial and see what its like in a few months or wait untill an xbox versions out ... of course i might end up in warhammer by then .

First off appreciate you both trying to help others on the technical side.  This isnt to in any way slam your efforts.  Just.. this really annoys me sorry.

You shouldnt have to diable SM 3.0 nor set the other core+s to affinity for a game build for DX10 and multi-threaded. 

I refuse to, in essence, downgrade my hardware's potency for a game designed to use said hardware because for any reason.  I think that notion for a so called triple A title like AoC is freakish.  I sure hope they got what they wanted out of this OB client that is both of the past, future, and is neither OB, stress, or "real".

Im Blaming Funcom that made a AAA game...

 

If they cant make their engine work right then its not a AAA title yet. Especially with what THEY stated as being part of the core engine, and not merely a half assed code paste.

Are u working as a developer for WAR? otherwise i dont see how u would know that its perfomance or graphics will suck.

Or maybe since the great Funcom srewed up no1 else has a chance to pull it off.
