It is official in Korea, Aion follows a classic model of buy box+pay monthly fees, 15$ is the standard so zereelist's post will probably be accurate whenever we get our bussiness model confirmed, anyways, guild wars is another kind of game totally different from Aion, GW can afford to loose a bit of money monthly on that model cause they don't pay for a lot of servers, they put almost all the load on your computer through instances, and that's not possible on a persistant world such as Aion's.

Yup, a 100%. developer confirmed it in an interview a long time ago.

"GW2 will be a seamless world thats f2p"- I dont think that's gonna work if they wish they provide the same quality of service as they did with GW, but that remains to be seen...

As for Aion, just like the above posters have stated: 100% p2p, weeds out the f2p whiners tbh

yeh it is P2P and I perfer it that way.

Anyway there has been no talk about micro payments or an item mall.  I doubt that there will even be one at all since you have to earn unique equipment in the game such as PVP points or quests.

Yeh, being P2P will make for a better game... So they'll actually be paid for working on updates for the game... Hopefully expansions will be free like how NCSoft does with CoH... Maybe i'm just wishing for too much

Yeah, I'm sick of paying for online games, they should all be free. I'm sick of paying $700 a month for my crappy apartment, I think it should be free also. My slow internet connection isn't worth $45 bucks a month, it should be free also. I hardly use my cell phone so it should be free instead of paying $60 a month. Wait... no? You mean I have to pay to get service? People don't work for free? Developing games isn't volunteer work? You're right, I have to be a complete idiot to work my ass off for 3-5 years just to give it away for free. Oops, I forgot to turn off my sarcasm.

I'm not saying P2P is cheap, but am i the only one that thinks, for the amount of fun we get in this kind of games, 10€ is actually quite cheap :S .. Meh i just went for some drinks 2night and easily spent that sum in about one hour xD!

Still some of my non-playing game friends get horrified whenever i say them i have to pay 2 play. but well, i also get horrified whenever i hear they spend money in things that are completely useless to me..

So, what i mean to say, and allready gone in a bit of off-topic here, is that Depending of how much we love to do something in this case, play this magnificient games, i consider this monthly sums to  be quite fair.

If someone doesnt want to play, for quality game, they always have F2P games, ofc those are crappy, but samething happens in everything little thing, If YOU want quality, You must pay for it :). Nobody works for free.

Why are we having this conversation Must suck to not want to pay for a great game half of the free games have bad support or use item malls that over charge more than a monthly fee would cost.  Lets look at ArchLord game became free because no one wanted to buy it and now the servers can't even support their own sieges and you need to buy chantra items because they are so over powering against other people who don't use them so just be happy with $15

GW's is a really great game buying all 4 campaighns is still cheaper than a year sub to most mmo's and most of them are not as immersive and story driven as gw's with a nice skill based pvp system to boot. Yer a troll with your post there sire and i fed ya and i hope yer troll teeth rot out, i doubt you even tried to play gw's or the other 3 expansions for it.
