Hey guys!

I got a problem here or maybe its not... however! Its about my video card. SO for example when I play Age of Conan it is kinda lagging like mini small freezes I mean even in the opening sponsors its hacking/lagging and this is probably the sign that something is wrong like drivers or something....and my brother tried the game aswell and he can play it without lags on his computer and the funny thing is that I got a 2 times better video card than his and more ram and a better CPU than him... So why ? I checked my over and over to have the right drivers and it seems that I dont or maybe I do...

I downloaded my drivers for the video card from here ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

I use a ATI Radeon 3870 card, 4gb ram,  and intel celeron 2.4ghz  it sux I know it doesn't even meet requirements for AOC...but IM sure it should it still should be able to run the game easily.. and like I said my brother can play it without lags...

Would help if you could post what your brother's specs are and also what windows you are both using, also I think there is a chance you are bottle necking your system, with such a low end cpu you wont be getting full use of your graphic's card.

I have an 8800 GTS 512 and I am getting the same performance issues. I just turned the game off as I didn't wanna play like that I have all the latests Nvidia drivers and everything is up to date. Runnin 4GB ram and a AMD duel core 6400+ CPU. I was at a constant 64 fps or so but the lagging and and constant skipping bothered me it kinda took away from being able to try it out I finally just sent in my feedback and hope they fix the issues. I really wanna play this game but so far I have been kinda bored I know up to level 20 is supposed to be like this but I kinda turned the game off at level 8 or so as I just got bored. I don't know if the game bored me or the constant problems I was having.

I am the ambassador of kick your assador

My system is-

Core2Duo E6750 @2.6 ghz

2 GB Corsair XMS

eVGA 8800 GT 512 MB PCI-Express 2.0

2x150 Gb Raptors

Windows XP

and the game was unplayable at the stock system settings. Which was weird because I was getting 55+ FPS, but the lag was horrible whenever I tried to move forward. I lowered some settings and made it very playable, but the weird thing is that my FPS didn't change. Somehow I don't think the FPS indicator is being accurate. Plus if you keep your video options set high, have fun waiting for 10 minutes while new zones load. TUrning the graphics down increased my load times DRAMATICALLY, to around 15-20 seconds average.

It does look good though, even after turning some of the eye candy off it looked impressive.

Alot of other people having the same problem huh? but then if I reinstall the game will that solve it? BTW I forgot to add another thing when I start AOC my screen is black for like 5 minutes THEN all that lagging with funcom pops up....

It wont help if you reinstall, remember it is still beta and from what is being said an older engine(dont flame just what I have heard)also they are using this beta for stress testing,I would just hold fire till the release and see how it improves through the beta.

I did the same thing I can play almost any other game on high with no problems. I got the same video card as you have and its a beast. I have 4 GB PC2 6400 Ram runnin Vista but with 4 GB I should be good. I had to lower stuff also and it make it playable but I still got the lagging in places but not nearly as bad and I did load quicker. But man having to turn everything so low with a decent system and it still has problems kinda ruins it for me. I saw where ALOT of folks were having performance issues and I have noticed alot of times it is with the higher end video cards the duel core processors not sure if you saw that to.

I find myself seeing that is a dumb move on there part how many folks do you think this *old* beta build will turn off in the end from buying or canceling there pre-orders? Why not stress test with the gold client and see how the actual game is gonna run with so many folks and so many different system specs. Or at least a closer to final build I know they wanted to keep some things under wraps but man I was so looking forward to this game and now I am have second and third thoughts I do have my pre-order code and will try that when it comes out on the 17th. But I do have to say from the start I had problems this time even in the starting area but the PVP weekend worked alot better for me I have heard it was a newer build.

But still imo they should have let us try the newer client to stress it and see how it was gonna be looking when the game goes live so what if alot of the bugs have been fixed and such? You would want people to test the newer build to check bugs in something that hasn't been looked over already and such. Or they could be blowing smoke up our ass and it's all the same client.
