As I tend to try out MMO's all the time, I often sign-up and download the latest free2play game. Now, since doing so, I have begun to notice that my pc's performance does not seem to be as effective as it once was, either that, or I am imagining it. When I download these free2plays, I usually just scroll through the t's and c's, without paying too much attention. I was wondering whether it was possible that any of these products were implanting spyware into my computer? Afterall, they have to make their money somehow. Could this be possible? Or am I just imagining it? |

Yeah, they install all kinds of really intrusive anti-cheating/hacking stuff. Shaiyu installs GameGuard which can only be removed by manually editing the registry itself. That's just the tip of the iceberg. |

Download a program called hijackthis, it sounds like a bad program but it just tells you what your computers running. |

even in normal installing and uninstaling you'll notice your computer slow down a bit. a nice registry cleaner will help clean things up. |

When you install games on your hard drive they tend to be interwoven in terms of which parts of the drive they are stored on. Get 'O & O defrag' and defrag your c:\ drive for performance. You'll notice a huge improvement. Also start > run > msconfig and go to the final tab removing anything that looks unfamiliar. You can also run 'Adaware' to look for virus' etc. but you wont necessarily find any - I think the defrag should fix your problem. |

Why don't you try anti-spyware and delete some of game that you don't play anymore? |
