The open beta client is older than the PvP weekend client. The loading bug and memory leak is known by the dev team. These minor bugs will be fixed by launch because there releasebuild is much better.

Don't count on reviews here, the game isn't released and the open beta is a introduction to like 5% of what you do in the game. Theres no mounts, no crafting, no dungeons, just a few quests and a small area to explore. This game will be as good as promised, these kids are whining because they cant handle the memory leak and/or WoW fans.

Yeah we've heard this before.  Give me an official link where funcom says the OB client is old.  If that's true they are dumb.  Why introduce the game for the first time to 50k people with anything other than the latest client?  It makes no sense from a marketing or technical standpoint.  Why would they not want to stress test with the latest build?  Why would they want to piss off so many who preordered?

Fanboys are actually afraid by lots of players canceling their preorder that's all, they are simply AFRAID it's a disaster :

-  FB (fanboy)listen it's a beta

- BT (beta tester) yeah but release in 15 days

- FB listen this is an old Client

BT tha'ts ridiculous, of course

-FB Listen there"s a debugger running

- FB listen there's open pvp not even CTF

BT NO played VG 1 year and even VG works better than this ...Alpha my computer is  simply perfect

- FB its because of linux mac os x Vista, because of VISTA, that's it your'r on vista

BT NO windows XP pro

- FB your ati/nvidia drivers are old crappy lol

NO have the last ones

- FB your hard disk is broken etc

BT no my computer is perfect + Norton ghost 12 all games and betas running with my computer, I have only pbs with AGE OF CONAN.

Does it need work? Yes. Is it the worst game ever? Hell no!

Since GU2 VG works better than AOC.

So let me get this right, you are saying that for the first open beta with a drop of NDA they decided to do the beta with an old buggy version of the beta client...  That in actuallity they are holding back the real client to be a big surprse or something when the game launchs....

If they were smart they'd released a polished OB client (which they should be able to manage if the release client is anywhere near polished)

I'm damn sick of failed launches. Lets hope no foablocks break off of the side of this one!
