Best PVP in a MMO it is called Mo Xiang. different version may have differenrt name. aka Dark Story, Feat of Arms, Mo Siang.... Mo Siang is malaysia version but in english. it is the best pvp in a mmo in my opinion... why? cuz.... when you pk a player... a window of about blank 12 or 16 box pop up letting you choose which box in 3 or 5 tries..... if you choose right..... you get their loots from their inventory.... you can even get their golds! theres a reason why people pvp in this game besides mindless pk! theres also a duel mode pvp.... once the duel is requested and accepted.... a clear-cage will cover you and your oponent. once the duel is finish.... it will anounce who win and who lose near the chat window for everyone to see and for fame and face.
down side: Mo Siang is a malaysia version but in english. USA and else where players suffer from connection lagg due to server from malaysia over sea. sound effect delay, movement delay, hp bar damage delay ect.... grind fest, do same old moves/skill millions of time just to level it up.... but the topic is only for its pvp feature.

Wow! You can loot gear SOME of the time, and you get to play a lame click-a-box game? You get carebear duels that ensure no one interferes, and then people nearby get a message that tells them who won (just incase, ya know, they happen to care but weren't watching it...)?

I'm sorry. I just couldn't resist. |

That must be a very slow-paced game if you're forced to play that mini-game afterwards... |

Originally posted by Stumpy26 RPG combat sucks and EVE is one of the worst offenders. Probably the shittiest RPG combat I've ever seen in my life. SWG's Jump to Lightspeed puts it to shame. At any rate, you're the biggest carebear of all. You're a carebear because you play RPGs for PvP combat when RPG combat is probably the least player skill intensive form of PvP across all genres. If you want real PvP quit half assing it and sub to PlanetSide. And as far as RPG PvP goes Guild Wars is the best. By a long shot. |

Originally posted by lkavadasimo real pvp is tactical and planned, planetside looks like counterstrike gone mmorpg or am I wrong there? Is pvp in guild wars consentual and full loot, last I heard it wasnt. imo consentual / (controled eg: deuling system) pvp with no full loot is pointless so I guess we have a different definition of "good" pvp. |

eh.. I think Dark Age of Camelot has the best pvp of any mmo I have played. But I hope Warhammer Online will put daoc an all others to shame. (Mythic rocks) |

Originally posted by gorguk Part of being good is being balanced. Guild Wars has diversity and balance, as overpowered builds do not tarry long as overpowered builds. Guild Wars, if you find enough competent people to GvG/HA with, is probably the most fun PvP, imho. |

I cannot be called a real PvP player, I have very little PvP experience. But I would definitely say the strongest concept for a RPG PvP (in contrast to an egoshooter PvP where all that matters is your reflexes) is Guild Wars. There you really have to think a lot what you are going to do, and there you have many alternative ways and choices and many unique abilities to consider. Mind, this is purely from looking at rulesets alone, not from actually playing any of the real PvP titles myself.

Considering Guild Wars is completely skill-based and items mean nothing, full loot would be utterly useless. What would you loot? PvPers don't usually carry money on them, armor is customized for the wearer and weapons will be too in 90% of the cases. I can't think of anything they would need to carry on them too. You can create a maximum level PvP character right from the beginning to use. That is what I call PvP - it's competitive. If you feel this extreme need for items, you get them if you win the Hall of Heroes too. |

Tibia in my opinion. you can loot some of the stuff, and allways the backpack. you can allso get special items wich prevents you from loosing your stuff when killed. you can kill people whenever you want, wherever you want. as a punishment for killing a player you get a skull wich means other players can kill you without punishment. if you kill to many people you get a "red-skull" and then you loos ALL your stuff when you die. the PK'ing itself require more skills then level/viritual skills.
other then the pvp this game sux.

I don't think any of you know what true FFA PvP is. Why because you talk like DAoC, and Guild Wars is hardcore PvP. They are not - in fact some would call them and games like WoW's PvP "carebear" games. Old UO had good PvP and one other game. That game was Asheron's Call. The Darktide server was full on FFA PvP. No safe zones. You could loot players you killed. You could actually hurt a players character so bad by killing them numeroustimes that it would be near impossible to dig themselves out of the vitea whole. Semi-twitch combat. Yes you could dodge arrows and magic spells and such. Asheron's Call PvP combat for an MMORPG was the best in its day and is still one ofthe best combat systems I think ever seen in an MMORPG - until recently. AC's Darktide server was the purest form of FFA PvP ever seen in an MMIORPG to date in my opinion.

People have different opinions of "hardcore" PvP. I for one don't think that simply being allowed to kill anyone, anywhere, anytime is hardcore...It's inconvenient. Looting the opposing player also seems to be part of the definition, which means that items obviously are of great importance in the game. I consider hardcore PvP being PvP that requires skill in order to win. Really, running around killing everyone does get tedious after a while. It's quite lame and a way to try and convince yourself that you're better than other people by catching them unexpectedly. PvP that is completely skill based and has objectives is what I call hardcore. |

Originally posted by LydonUmmm...oldschool Darktide wasn't about gear, or levels, it was about skill. AC was a level based game this is true, but its skill system was not like your standard MMORPG you see today. In fact no game today has been able to accomplish the same amount of freedom to develop a character as much as AC did. Not even SWG. In AC you could continue to develop a skill as long as you were willing to work on it...forever. I am not sure there was a hardcap on skiills. I do not remember. In AC a level 45 actually had a chance to beat someone many levels higher then them - even if that higher player character had better gear. It all came down to who had learned to play their character better. There were all kinds of builds in AC as well and anyone that played on that server will back me up with what I have said here.
