The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp.

1500 GMT = 3PM GMT. EST is minus 5 hours GMT or 10AM.....NOT 9AM

FC seems mathmatically challenged with time zone conversions...

I live in the US and I get confused...

DST messes everything up.

How reassuring that Funcom can't tell time.  Oh dear!  Hopefully they're better at other stuff.  Even if they have a stellar open beta launch, we can always throw time in their face if they piss us off.

Actually, its not Funcom's fault; its like Slippyc said, daylight savings time messes everything up in the US. Right now, on standard time it is only 8:43 even though the clock says 9:43 (Spring forward one hour). So if I am right (which normally I am not) I expect the servers to be up in about 15 minutes.

Daylight savings time is an archaic idea and really needs to change but thats just my opinion.

My husband and I are in the US for right now but we live in Britain.  Even with BST and the loopier DST (which they keep changing the date for), it takes me a second to look it up.  Maybe Funcom doesn't have internet?   Even though I was just teasing, it's still kind of sloppy.  The US should just give up and declare daylight savings time to be in effect all year.   It gets longer and longer every year, anyway.   Or get rid of it.  Either way is fine!

Unfortunately funcom is NOT a US timezone based company so they really couldn't care about the little details. It's the end user that should be smacked in the face for not realizing that 9am EST is ACTUALLY 10am EST for us.

2 minutes or 2 hours ...it will happen when it happens. It's just frustrating that the 2 primary organizations involved (FP and FC) who are worth 10's of millions of dollars can't get their info straight or figure out a simple math conversion.

I could not agree more. I understand why daylight savings was used back in the day but now it seems pointless. All it makes you do is over sleep for work or make work seem an hour later. I agree to get rid of it!!!

Patching AoC now and getting excited!!!!

When I see GMT , I see blah blah blah/ 9 est. I would think they post the right time, or they wouldn't post it. had they listed gmt only ..... I would have done the math myself :/ .
